Better than idah , has played Rodger’s system before , will score goals so a yes for me ,

if he comes in on a one year contract then probably shows where’s the board and rodgers are at on a new contract

Club, probably wrongly, think idah, yamada, osmond and Kenny will all be in better equipped places this time next year to be first choice, throw in the uncertainty of Rodgers and our refusal to throw a big fee on a number 1 striker with 9 mill idah sitting on the bench and to the board and to many this makes a lot of sense

Come on mate, he's miles above those two even at 38. Comfortably the best striker in the championship a year or two ago and still fit as a fiddle.

It's lazy as * and I understand the frustration as it in no way solves the problem, but as a stop gap he would come in as comfortably our best striker.

    Jamie Vardy
has emerged as a surprise target for Napoli.

The free agent former England international has been taking his time considering offers with a number of top clubs showing interest.

Italian champions Napoli have now added the 38-year old to their list of options after Romelu Lukaku was ruled out for three months with injury. Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson is another target but could prove too expensive.

Vardy left Leicester City at the end of the season after a glittering spell that saw him score 200 goals in 500 appearances and win the Premier League and FA Cup.

His fitness, professionalism and mentality mean he is still an attractive proposition to top tier sides despite his advancing years.

Celtic, Rangers and Everton are among the other sides to have shown levels of interest in recent weeks.

Vardy's wife Rebekah may have dropped a couple of clues of the shock development last month when she showed off her impressive physique in a figure-hugging nude dress while stopping in Italy during a family holiday in Portugal.

The WAG, 43, has shared a host of snaps from her getaway with Jamie, where they've been joined by his footballing pals Harry Maguire and James Maddison.

Jamie and Rebekah had been enjoying a few weeks at their £9.7million villa in the Algarve.

Earlier this month, Rebekah set the internet ablaze with speculation over her husband next club after a playful social media post. She posted an image of three of their children wearing each of Inter Miami's kits on Instagram.

The WAG accompanied the playful post with a 'smiling face with sunglasses' emoji.

Rebekah's post had many convinced that the Englandinternational is set to join a star-studded roster led by Lionel Messi, that includes his former Barcelona team-mates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, as well as his Argentina colleague Rodrigo De Paul.

But a source close to the club has poured cold water on the possibility, telling Daily Mail there is 'absolutely no way' Vardy is joining the MLS outfit.

'No one at inter Miami will have heard of him, they just signed Rodrigo de Paul who won the World Cup with Argentina,' they added.

'It was nice of them to buy the kits though.'

He’ll go abroad for the money but we’d be daft to not offer him something, he’d score for fun up here and give us something off the bench in Europe.

We lauged when they signed Defoe and he put up good numbers. Vardy is slightly older but I think ability wise he’s better than Defoe was when he moved up.

Imagine how good he’d be for Osmand if he doesn’t go on loan. There’s a load of upside and very little downside.

Would have been dead against this at the start of the window, but given our options, I would actually take him for a season. That’s the board lowering expectations working a treat! Think he would still bang them in, not like a 38 year old that’s not been playing, he has a good season last season for a * leicester

    He's better than Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has aged like an Ibrox junky in the last 2 or 3 years.

Vardy was banging them in as a bit part player in the so called best league in the world last season.

    * * I forgot all about Osmand.

We may as well have went out and signed Donny Osmond.

The experience he brings and adds is exactly why we’ve had success in bringing in Hart, Kasper, Toure etc. We’d be daft not to.

Vardy is a much better striker than Maeda so Maeda on the left is best with vardy in the middle would be better
