Once upon a time I thought Soro and Turnbull would run our midfield.. and run it well :giggle1:

I thought Soro would be a reincarnation of Makélélé

Our midfield was that bad we thought he’d solve all our issues :giggle1: Decent enough wee player and would do well at Falkirk I reckon, guaranteed 10 yellows + a season as well.

Obviously not good enough for us, but I think that'd be a coup for Falkirk.

Surprised the likes of Aberdeen, Hearts etc arent in for him.

While he wasn’t a world beater by any stretch, in his early days here I thought he showed some promise - which, in hindsight, may say more about where we were at as a club at the time. His rashness, which was verging on headless chicken-ish at points, was probably his single biggest flaw as a player and I see he picked up 9 yellows (albeit no reds) in the 27 games he played last season.

I’d echo the above in that I think he’d be able to get a slightly higher profile Scottish team than Falkirk, but who knows how they’ll kick on this season anyway. In saying that, and I appreciate there’s a lot of bias in this next statement, I’d view playing for Falkirk as preferable than playing for Beitar Jerusalem any day of the week, let alone in the current climate - just a horrible, horrible club.

We were acting like huns with how much we lauded Soro in his early days.

Looking back on it, it reminded me of how the huns went on about * like Dorrans

I think we were excited about energy he showed in a team that looked jaded and often not interested. Don't think people were ever saying he was a £20m player like Barron though.

I don't think we're ever inclined to talk about valuations as much as the huns because we're not as envious about it.

We've set the standard in Scotland for selling players for top dollar. Huns have barely done that so they're always itching to say how their players cost x, y, and z million. Our brief period under them was a bit of a different dynamic.

We were defo excited by his energy but, just like the huns when they love a pretty bang average player, it was way over the top. Something you can only really see in hindsight tbh. I was just as bad for it as anyone else.

It was definitely over the top, I just think there is context behind it and fans were looking for someone who seemed interested in playing. However, maybe that is the context for the Huns. They loved some absolute * because they didn't know any better. Barron, Lundstram, Sakala, Cantwell, Jefte, Yilmaz and Hagi to name a few. Daft * were singing about signing Joe Garner.

Could be a decent enough signing for them. I remember early matches under Ange when both Soro and Bitton were getting game time. You just knew some sort of crazy * was gonna go down :giggle1:

One player that won’t be joining Falkirk is former Celtic midfielder Ismailia Soro. Reporting from the Daily Record had linked the Ivorian with the Bairns, saying he was on trial with the McGlynn’s group. But that was rubbished by the boss - who saw the funny side of the transfer rumour mill

He said: “Poor guy’s been found in Falkirk – that’s the biggest fake news ever! He’s probably playing with Barcelona or something like that – ‘You think I’m going to go to Falkirk?’. Somebody got that miles wrong. I was howling. I was absolutely howling, rolling about on the floor. Somebody got that miles wrong.”

My abiding memory of him was staring at a player in the Hun midfield when he was on the ball and passing it right to him.

He was staring at him like the pass was going that way that ridiculously obviously I thought has to be a decoy. Then he passed it to him.

The one game we seen him play in an 8 he was good if I mind right, but I think Uraguide, Ewan Henderson, Scales at LB and Mikey Johnstone also were that game

Obviously didn’t want to make the move to Falkirk then
