Did you get stuck in the kick and rush era? :56:

I don't know for how long you follow Brendan Rodgers, but he is known for implementing a style of play where ball playing defenders are needed ;-)

Did a lot of good things throughout the game, but his slack passing nearly cost us.

We need better as our starting CB.

Should have grasped the nettle and got it sorted this window.

Today was an off day in terms of his passing, which he isn't a stranger to. But majority of times he's really good on the ball and can pick out a pass excellently. I see a lot of 'he's pish on the ball' which is just not true.

Weirdly, he * the easy passes. First half he lasered a few really good balls through the lines.

I dont understand how any board member can watch him give the ball away like that and NOT think the position needs investing in.

He's been doing my * * in with those daft 10 yard passes, giving the ball away.

It's not his game though, not his fault his boss can't identify a better CB.

Elite manager yes, but * me he cannot sign a decent centre back.

I genuinely thought Tierney would end up at left CB if we signed a decent back up.

He done fine defending to be fair but ffs every time he played the ball to someone I was expecting a counter attack. As much as I like the big fella he's never gonna be a ball carrier from defence, time to give Pusey/Trusty a run imo

He had a poor game today, after being good against St Mirren. Pretty much sums him up he's wildly inconsistent. I prefer Trusty in that position I think he's better at just about everything. Scales use of the ball today was dreadful.

As usual people watching the games with their eyes shut. He was not utterly * or even poor, just about everything he done defensively was excellent, it was a few stupid moments of a lapse in concentration leading to giving the ball away.

At least attempt to be accurate in your assessments guys, don't just scribble down some half arsed, lazy sentences.

He’s just brutal on the ball, he’s defensively sound but just not suited to our game at all. Hoping Pusey makes a good impression and can nail down the spot.

Wasn't bad but can definitely improve in that area. I still think Trusty needs another shot. But the writing looks on the wall for him.

Not convinced his defending is particularly great either to be honest. Positioning is iffy and his decision making on when to back off and when to get tight can be iffy too. Lots of examples of it today. Compared on CCV who is a genuinely good defender its a big difference.

Nothing against the lad. Im sure hes a great training and dependable guy in the dressing room. The sort of guy a amnager loves to have in the squad as he will turn up week in, week out and get his head down and work.

But its kind of disheartening to see that theres been no ambition at all to progress there and we are still going to have the weekly Scales / Trusty flip flopping.

Trusty I held out some hope for that he might kick on this year as the player we signed him for. So to see him still behind Scales in the pecking order is pretty disappointing.

Any confidence Brendan once had in Trusty, drained out of him tail end of last year. He's going.
Brendan trusts Scales, and Scales does a job for him, can also fill in nicely at left back, which is very handy.
Not saying Scales is the finished article, far from it, but he's dependable, when the chips are down.

I actually like scales. Sure hes not the best. He should be a backup in reality, but he's done a cracking job from where we got him from tbh.
