Probably a saving on payroll. Gamble £40m to save a few grand, sounds like a plan.

We need a ST, RW, LW, LB minimum. CM and another RW would be good as well. We needed a RW before Kuhn left. Now we need 2. But won't get that and be left short again ofcourse in typical fashion.

The squad is insanely light and once that window slams shut and we get an injury or two it'll become obvious why folk want that.

    It's really not ridiculous.

100%. As I said last week we're an injury or two away from being in real trouble.

Aye, it will be the norm unless we change now...

Board sleepwalking into trouble, that will end up taking time to turnaround.

We dont NEED another 2 right wingers when we have 2 here. We need 1 good first choice winger.

So the first choice right winger gets a knock and misses a few weeks. You happy with Yang and Forrest (who can only really do 30-45 mins) as our options there?

A serious club would be signing two right wingers and punting Yang.

These clubs must be rolling their eyes anytime they see we’re making contact about a player because they’ll have to endure absolute nonsense … canny get my head around it.

If yang or forrest goes, then we need another. Fact is that's sqaud building. You can only have so many in one position. Just because people dont like yang, and still don't sing a song for forrest doesn't mean we must sign another before the season starts. Fact is, once jota is back in January, that's him who can play right aswel. So as long as the new winger lasts until then I'm more than happy with that.

    Yep. Need a shakeup..

They've clearly sorted their recruitment side and are getting value for money without a doubt. You could argue that most (no all) of their signings wouldn't get in our team.....but the problem is, even the ones that currently would and were cheap as *, we likely had no clue about..

I genuinely think we're caught at the minute no knowing what to do. It's shameful that we're going in for players valued at 5 plus with 1.5 bids and our rivals are going in and nabbing players for the same club with minimal fuss..

Scunnered with how we've approached this window. Probably will be alright this year and I do expect signings in but it definitely doesn't bode well for the future..

I disagree as I'm not including Yang. I think by all accounts he'd be away by now if Rodgers had gotten his way.

Jota will miss most of this season as well. I don't think a January return is realistic and he will have missed another pre season by that stage too. It'd be asking a lot for him to come in and hit the ground running.

That's you not including him. Fact is he is part of the sqaud, and just because you dont like him he's not included. That's not how it works. The sqaud has so much space for so many positions. When we get a first choice RW in, then unless we do ship another out then we dont have space for a second new RW. We would be better getting a left winger that is comfortable on the right at this point incase meada gets injured. Who's covering him?

I can't see Jota playing all that much a role this season, I'd say it will be April by the time he is ready to start games.

Completely agree, apart from Inamura is an adequate left back alternative for Tierney. Then push one of our youngsters up too. Spend big/wisely on a striker instead of the left back cover.

also one thing I’d add. Not keen at all on the club only looking at players under 23. Why can’t we go out and buy a proven striker 25/26 and above who doesn’t need to improve? There is so many options across world football who’d be great for us. * making money for once just buy someone who’s gonna play for us for a good 4/5 years and not rush to leave for profit

I really hope and pray that this window will signal the end of the “it’s difficult to do deals, it’s naw football manager we’re playing here” weapons.

    It won’t, but it should.
