Literally a week ago I was calm, we’ve since started the season and the very first game shone an instant light on our deficiencies out wide. We’re now approaching 4 days on from that game, have another one this weekend against the side that beat us in the cup final a matter of weeks ago and there’s still no movement on a winger coming in to replace the 17 million quid Kuhn. A qualifier looms a fortnight today and there’s a very real prospect of Yang being our first pick right winger against a back drop of public turning down of bids half of clubs asking prices. Someone has to be held accountable and all the excuses and reasoning in the world doesn’t detract from the lack of urgency for solutions rather than playing of the worlds smallest violin because ‘it’s hard to do deals’ and various other * we listen to on repeat.

Even now if we get in the players we want there’s been a gamble element to this window to this point. We’re not replacing players never mind improving on them.

I think this is the worst window yet tbh, a lot of people, myself included, usually dont get angst until around the middle of August.

If we had signed any sort of RW, id probably just be slightly annoyed at the lack of business elsewhere. It's the fact we dont have that in yet that astounds me.

I think not having a qualifier helped in recent years, but we are unbelievably weak up top and the rumours coming out seem weak at best.

Definitely a real disconnect between Rodgers and the board. Not saying they were perfect windows (and I'm not blaiming Rodgers) but it didn't feel this disconnected under Ange and Lennon. (Lennon's final window was atrocious but iirc most people were delighted with the signings at the time)

While the freshening up of the squad still remains a question, I'm perhaps more concerned thet there didn't really appear to be any freshening up of ideas, either formational or tactical, and that extends to no real apparent Plan B or set pieces. It felt like picking up where the team left off 10-11 weeks ago, seeming a bit jaded and predictable, and there was a similiar pattern during BR's first stint. There is the theory as the law of diminishing returns, a lack of innovation leads to a degree of stagnation, which as much as anything is giving me the cause for concern. It's still early, but that was the impression I got from the St M game at the weekend.

Worse or better than the disaster you predicted last season?

I was in the opinion that one year those * in Govan will get it right on the field.

obviously they are going for it.

looking at the state of us and the quality on the park with the same * tactics, we can be in for a frustrating season.

I was going to say the same thing.

If you had any doubt anyone is overreacting then that post confirms the mood is valid.

not confident at all, at the moment the squad has too many inconsistent and unreliable performers, just seems mental that the board would risk upto 60 million over the next 2 seasons, due to their ego and not giving into rodgers . absolute * clowns

Could never bet against Celtic but if I was a neutral I probably would as it stands just now.

Yeah even the people who are stalwart defenders of the board are scunnered by this summer. Just tells you all you need to know.
It's so disheartening knowing what a club we could become but we continue to be held back by these mongs in the boardroom.
It's continuos unnecessary gambling as always. It's like if we ever have a qualifier for Europe it's like a new personality comes out.

Over three weeks left in the transfer window. I'm still very confident in the season ahead, a decent win against an underperforming Czech team from them across the city, has certainly not gotten me shaken with fear. I'm positive that we WILL bring in 2-3 players who are 1st team ready.

Awful feeling this season is going to be an absolute shitshow, irrespective of what could realistically transpire from now until the end of the window

Said window looks to be, on the face of it, another colossal * up. If the opening game is anything to go by the manager hasn't altered anything with regards to the tactics, style or motivation that has saw us bumble our way through this calendar year.

We're lacking a talisman. Callum looks to be on the wane so that leaves Maeda and its probably a long shot to expect the same sort of season from him again.

Managers also got his perennial petted lip on, perhaps justified but I don't believe he is entirely innocent in the transfer fuckery, also seems pretty obvious this is his last season and that kind of situation has, rarely played out well anywhere.

Add the latest nonsense between the board and green brigade and there just seems to be a horrible malaise about the club. It's gutwrenching, hope we can turn it around but it's not looking good.

An ageing Cal Mac, lack of new players and a manager who will be offski at the end of the season, don't like it.

For the first time in a long while, I'm not even looking forward to watching us on Sunday. Utterly deflated and expecting us to drop points. We're a few poor weeks away from a full scale meltdown.
