He's honestly made some career for himself.

Played a good few games for his boyhood club, played with the Norwegian champions, won a Scottish cup with Hibs and has pretty much been a regular at almost every club he's been at in Italy. Lived in some beautiful cities in Italy too.

He probably won't get a Scotland cap but he's done very well for himself.

 

Empoli went down so you would say he will almost certainly move. Interestingly there are quite a few Irish lads at Bristol City and as a club they have firmly established themselves in the second tier even making the playoffs this season. So that is a move that might be an interesting one for him.

 

He's been on that journey before to Siere B and back with Hellas Verona I think.

Unless the money is significantly better not seeing the appeal of leaving Italy.

You're no coming back to the UK to win anything at his age/ability (no offence meant).

I'd be sticking to Italy or a wee move to Portugal or the likes. Enjoy the much better quality of life and see about doing right by your kids(if he has?).

He's played in Serie B for the majority of his time in Italy. Serie B for Bari, Hallas Verona, Empoli(both leagues) Lecce, Palermo. He only really started playing Serie A football in 2021 after 4 seasons in Serie B. Two seasons in Serie A for Empoli 2021-2023, then loaned to Serie B for 2023-2024 season then back at Empoli in Serie A last season. 3 seasons in Serie A and 5 in Serie B .

 

He's as slow as they come. Like David Turnbull with ankle weights on. English lower leagues will eat him up, stay in Italy.

 

I would sign for them for the strip alone. Always like Sampdoria tops.

 

Was gonna say that's a great move until I saw Sampdoria finished 17th in Serie B, wonder what happened to them.
