Can't * wait to see him play his first real game for us. Future captain.

 

Been quality, should have 2 assists that first half

 

Just before he came off he couldn't chase back...I thought he pulled up..hope I'm wrong and he was just tired and the plan was always to take him off.

 

Had those exact thoughts myself, fingers crossed.

 

Going to be a case of managing his fitness early on this season

 

Yep, there was a ball to chase and he didnt even try - concerning.

He was fantastic, a level above.

I think hes fine, was walking off some, probably just a twinge, but we clearly need to manage him smartly this season.

 

Fitness needs managed properly.

 

Think the plan was always to put Scales at LB in this game..

Thats why Inamura didn't make the squad.. St. Mirren probably most physically imposing side in the league.. made sense to have 3 big CBs on the field

 

Brendan Rodgers has eased concerns over an injury scare for Kieran Tierney.


The Celtic left-back was withdrawn in the second half of the win over St Mirren, prompting worries of an injury issue.

Tierney appeared to be clutching his leg as he left the pitch but Rodgers has revealed it was simply cramp. Tierney was replaced by Auston Trusty as Liam Scales moved to left back.

On BBC Sportound, Rodgers said: "He's fine, he is still gaining his fitness, Kieran.

"He hasn't played a lot of football in the last few years so we have to manage him in the games.

"I thought he was excellent."

In his post-match interview with the media, Rodgers added of the substitution: "A wee bit of cramp."

 

Treading water after 45 mins. This is why I’ve said we need a LB immediately. We all love KT, he was ok today no more no less.

Some really good play but concerning if we are having to manage his game time already.

 

We'll need to be very careful with him..

Think the plan was always to give him around 60 and then put Scales to LB.. 3 CBs to cope with their big physical forwards and why it wasn't a game for Inamura

 

Perhaps but thought a few times before he came off he was looking jaded.

He's definitely improved that position but needs to be on the park for that to be the case. Only first game though so probably reading too much into it.
