If we could get half our money back it's a victory. Can't see him going though unless a replacement comes in.

Among the names that Udinese is following to strengthen the attack after the departure of Lorenzo Lucca to Napoli ( click here to read Inler's words on the matter ) there is also that of Adam Idah .

An Irish striker of Nigerian origins, born in 2001, Idah plays in Scotland with Celtic and last season scored 20 goals (three of which in the Champions League) in 54 appearances overall.

The player, who joined the green and whites last summer for around €10 million from English club Norwich, has also earned 32 caps for the Irish national team, scoring five goals. Idah has a contract with Celtic until 2029.

For the love of *, please.

If I never see him play for us again it'll be too soon.

If we can get anything close to what we paid for him it would be an amazing deal.

I'd be happy to give them a £1m bonus and keep him, maybe 2 for 1 with Engels.

If he starts Saturday Brendan should tell him to go out and show him why he should be number one striker. Genuinely don’t think he has it in him to be that.

Obviously the worry is will we get someone better. We should easily be able to but this is Celtic recruitment

To get 7m is the sweet spot 2m loss but if scouted properly we can get a player that’s better at 7 million

Reckon he gets another full season with us.

Another guy we are waiting to see if he comes good, kicks on, develops or whatever you want to call it. Seems to be paralysing our recruitment as we dont seem prepared to make a significant investment in another forward while hes on the books.

I think if we really wanted to drive forward we would probably have needed another good forward in. I guess Yamada is intended to do that but hes another guy that we dont really know what to expect with.

I think we signed Idah to be a future 1st team starter given what we spent. But on what we have seen Id have downgraded him to a "squad" player and had another crack at bringing in a genuine starting striker.

Hopefully it clicks for him this year.

He'll always score goals it's just the other aspects of his game. Hopefully see a Maeda-style technical game improvement from him. Doubt it but can only hope.

The negativity surrounding him is frightening, there’s definite issues he needs to resolve but he’s not the dafty a lot of people seem to think. In fact, before we signed him there was a general belief he might have been out of our reach.

If he applied himself a bit better and added consistency he’d be an excellent Celtic striker IMO.

Agree with this. He's not reliable enough to start and we certainly overpaid on him but he has came in and scored big goals. Like Engels, he needs to deliver this season or we should be looking at moving both on for whatever we can get close to what we paid for them next season.

I'm think the biggest issue is he seems very lazy.

Probably not helped by other strikers during his time, Kyogo, Maeda and Kenny and by the looks of it Yamada all working like * off the ball.

It's more his body language, I think he runs the channels well, its his finishing that is the issue and that bit of aggression attacking the ball. His movement is good, he just needs to show a bit more desire getting on getting on the end of crosses and be a lot more clinical. It's a casual attitude rather than laziness for me as I think he makes an awful lot of honest runs up front.

I think some players have that nonchalant look and when things are going well they look cool and effortless but when things are going bad they look lazy. Thierry Henry and Berbatov spring to mind.

So I dont mind that Idah sometimes has that look. I just dont rate the guy compared to the level of striker we really need to progress, or even to previous strikers weve had in the recent past.
