I am actually fine with this on the assumption we now go and spend decent money on 2 quality wingers. CCV Trusty him and Scales as first 4 then Murray as your youth backup 5th choice.

Hate loans with no option to buy..

However, as we're only capable of working on one deal at a time, hopefully we get the other additions required

Genuinely thought we'd moved beyond loan deals with no option to buy. Frees up Welsh to go on loan but I can't imagine City sanctioning this unless they thought he'd be relatively high up in the pecking order which presumably means displacing Dane Murray after a very solid preseason. Casting aside one of our own for someone who's had effectively no senior football experience just because they came from the academy of a big PL tream is a bit * and sends a terrible message to our already mismanaged academy.

Shame we don't seem to want to go all in for an upgrade on Trusty or Scales but if this lad fires a rocket up the formers * and keeps him on his toes then its still a good addition - if it turns out he's quality and cements a first team place all season it'll be a kick in the teeth losing him next summer though.

Just a * time to be announced, we're crying out for wingers but announce a loan signing CB instead.

Maybe another loan for Murray to a Premiership club this time makes sense..

He badly needs game time after two horrendous knee injuries.. I'd be ok with that if he's been lined up as starter next season

And also we don’t know how he will get on in real games, let someone else take the risk.

I'd throw Murray into the fire. Surely he's OK for Scotland. This Manchester City project is a year-long bandaid. We must grow a starter from our own ranks.

Rodgers has absolutely * all interest in our academy or developing youth players..

He's shown that over both spells here

You only need to look at the last game of last season for evidence. Young Mccardle had done well v Aberdeen and Kyle Ure had just been voted academy player of the year for 2nd season in a row, yet neither even made the bench for a meaningless end of season game yet we end up with Greg Taylor playing midfield

Well, he did well enough at Queens Park last season, Callum Davidson speaking quite highly of him.. but he needs that wee step up in class and guaranteed game time

The way this window is going don't put it past our board to sell CCV in the next month and this is his replacement

Ok we've kicked the can down the road on sigiing a top quality centre back, this means we'll be heavily investing in other areas right? Right??

Leaves us with 6 homegrown players so a very small squad for europe.

There is absolutely no logic or planning to any of our recruitment

Ah wonderful, the old kick the can down the road routine. If this lad establishes himself in the team, and as seems quite likely CCV is away next summer, we are looking at CL qualifiers with a completely new (or cobbled together) CB pairing.

I doubt Rodgers will be worried about that though as he isn't likely to be here.

Kicking the can down the road or not if it means I see less of Scales then I'm happy with this.
