Exactly it. We can't see the value in a player, it's why we spent £4.5m on Ajeti when we could have got someone like Toney who wanted to come here for a few million more, why we ended up with Mulumbu because we wouldn't pay the £3m for McGinn. If Van Dijk or Wanyama or MOR or any other of our successful bargains were looking for a million or 2 more they would never have signed for Celtic as our board wouldn't have paid the fee. We don't look for the best option, we looked for the cheapest one - irrespective of talent or potential and that's why it's so depressing with the resources we have.

 

Whatever about it, the huns are apparently bidding 5 million for a 5 million player and we're bidding 1.5m for a 5-6m player. We won't get business done when we continue to insult other clubs and take the *. I think most of us last year would have been of the opinion Atalanta could take a jump with their bids for MOR so I don't see how we could get upset when Celtic consistently insult other clubs with derisory offers.

 

We are an actual * embarrassment of a club we don't get the finger out soon this league title this season is going right to the wire

 

Don't know a great deal about either player but having watched a few YouTube videos of both Breum and Antman. I think Antman looks the better player and crucially the one best suited for us ie he plays a position we need filled and looks more physically developed.

Would worry if out scouts have been watching go ahead eagles and have came back with recommendation to sign Breum.

Looks like Huns have went for cheap option tho and got a winger on loan from spurs. Leaves the door open for us to sign Antman

 

Wouldn't surprise me to see them * sign both mate

 

Tbh, as much as they both look decent players, the worst thing the Huns could do right now is interfere with our transfer “strategy” and risk * us off. Our board have shown before that’s exactly what it takes to stop them sitting on their hands and force some action.

 

As bad as we have been I do expect us to get this done this week

We've thought this before only to get further * off but aye I agree with you. I think there's probably a realisation that things could get toxic very quickly on Sunday and it's probably best to avoid it.

Go spend £10m or so on a couple of wingers this week and the narrative changes completely

 

Aye they mite do. Although still in for palace winger too so think Antman will he down the list if they can get loans in instead.

 

Interestingly I saw something on Antman earlier and whilst his chance creation was still good his assist numbers were really boosted by some exceptional finishing by team mates he got his 15 assists of about 6.5xA which suggests he created chances that his team mates showed good finishing to put away rather than putting great chances on a plate for them. His goal numbers are right where they ought to be so that does suggest he gets in good positions.

He isn’t the best dribbler despite his physical profile of being fairly large and quick. He actually doesn’t do much off the ball too although that may be down to how GAE play as a smaller team and mainly sit in and look to hit teams in transition. That might explain why he has so few dribbles and relatively low volume of touches and defensive actions.

He did however do well in chance and big chance creation, if I am looking at his profile a lot of the chances he creates are low hard crosses from close to the byline after being played in behind from central areas. He would be ideal for Europe.

Breum seems like he was used as a proper goal scoring playmaker who was on the ball a lot more trying riskier passes and is on the ball a lot in games looking to create chances. There’s quite a bit of Hatate about him in that he is given licence to try create openings and make things happen. He again doesn’t offer much defensively.

 

I think he looks a classy player. Only thing is he seems better centrally

 

Aye there was couple of assists on that video were he literally played a 5 yard sideways pass and guys were then smashing onew in from edge of the box so aye it does skew the numbers a bit.

Like I say have very little knowledge of either outwith a few YouTube videos but thing that Im struggling with is where does Breum fit in. He doesn't look a natural wide player, agree theres a bit of Hatate about him from the videos

Watched a couple other videos of him and he does look good actually..

Don't know if I was just zoning out or watched a pish video before but he's impressive..

Not as weak as I thought. Gets about well. Great range of passing. Creates loads. Is a threat himself. Deffo looks more of a central player though but I'd deffo take him and take a player out like Bernardo or something, comfortably..

 

I think he looks like a good player and it may be the fact he is versatile that has caught our attention as before last year he largely played as an inverting left winger by the looks of it. But he looks an out and out playmaker type from the videos of him. Great vision and execution and some top quality touches and finishes.

I actually think domestically he could be very good and it’s then a question of how you get the best out of him in Europe. If we do sign him I think if does help with the issue we had against that mid block press in getting more technically sound, press resistant, can get on the half turn type of players in our squad and a greater goal threat from midfield in open play. It gives us more players who we can get the ball into feet and rely on to find space take the ball in and get us up the park. Nygren also fills that role.

I was quite impressed with Bernardo in the McGregor role on Saturday night and if he is to have a future with us it would need to be there for me as he doesn’t offer enough in one of the attacking midfield roles. The few times he did get caught on the ball in the game the other night it was more from team mates giving him hospital passes.
