Are we being serious with that buy option? Not a chance a team from Poland is paying that.

Take that, guessing it wont be €4.5M up front though but get him off the books. Now Yang and Tilio.

Poznan are a very well ran club tbh.

They're thinking might be to immediately flip for a profit if he does well, and if he doesn't they just dont take it up.

I think clubs are now putting high buy prices in loan to buys to protect them against a player being brilliant on loan and then signed for a bargain and sold on straight away.

As a result loan to buy prices are becoming inflated but likely negotiable at the end of loans. It wouldn’t surprise me if Nawrocki’s at Hannover is similar.

Aye not sure a polish team is paying that for him.

Realistically (not always the case), if a club(we) are actively wanting to sell but a team wants a loan first, the buy option ought to be what we would sell him for today and just accept he may find form regardless or not.

We don't want to end up pricing ourselves out of a deal here.

If it was an obligation to buy I agree but an option is heavily waited in the buying clubs favour.

Jack Hendry was our example sold for £1.5m and then immediately sold for £5 or 6m.

There are plenty more examples, that striker Romulo Cardoso sold to the Turkish club for €2.5m they now want £20m to sell him in the space of months.

Tzolis - was bought by Fortuna Düsseldorf for €3.5m sold immediately for €6.5m to Brugge.

To me if clubs want to try before they buy it comes with a premium to protect the selling club. If he does well we may be able to sell him elsewhere for that price, if he does ok and they want to buy and there isn’t much other interest we would be open to negotiating.

Luis Palma forgets about Celtic and has a new team in Europe; he'll play in the Champions League!

The Honduran leaves Olympiacos in Greece to take on a new challenge in Europe

Luis Palma's dilemma is over! Diario Diez has confirmed that Celtic has reached an agreement with Lech Poznan of Poland for the Honduran player's loan for one year with an option to buy.

The negotiations were conducted by his agent, Paulo Hernández, which is great news for the Honduran, who will stay in shape and be able to reach the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers in good shape.

This confirms what Brendan Rodgers said yesterday about the 25-year-old Honduran's future: "Luis (Palma) will probably go out on loan. There has been some interest in Yang, but he has been a good player for us."

Lech Poznań is a Polish football club based in Poznań, founded in 1922. It is one of Poland's most prominent teams and has won several national championships. They play their home matches at the Poznań Municipal Stadium (Enea Stadion), which seats approximately 43,000 spectators.

Regarding the Champions League, the team is not among the 29 teams already directly qualified for the 2025-26 league phase.

Among them are major clubs from England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, Portugal, the Netherlands, Greece and the Czech Republic.

But what is known is that Lech Poznań will participate in the second qualifying round (champions route)—that is, as Polish league champions, they will play a two-legged tie in July 2025 against Breioablik of Iceland to try to reach the league stage.

Therefore, Lech is not confirmed for the group stage, but will have to play knockout matches starting in the second qualifying round. If they make it through that round, they could continue advancing (third round and then play-offs) and ultimately reach the "league stage" in August 2025.

With this signing, Luis Palma will be at his fourth team in Europe. He played for Aris FC (Greece), Celtic (Scotland), and most recently Olympiacos (Greece), where he didn't perform at his best. However, he'll have another opportunity at Lech Poznan to return to his best form

He could end up playing against us in CL qualification. He’s the kind of guy that would score the goal that puts us out.

Luis Palma will arrive in Poznań on Sunday. Medical tests on Monday. The 25-year-old is flying to Poland from Honduras. It’s possible he’ll be registered for the second round of Champions League qualifiers.

New destination! Honduran soccer player Luis Enrique Palma departed this Saturday, July 19, in search of a new European adventure, this time to Poland.

A few days ago, LA PRENSA newspaper exclusively confirmed the signing of 'El Bicho' to Lech Poznan , the current Polish League champion and the team that will play the Champions League qualifying round against Breioablik of Iceland.

Our journalist Franklin Martínez and cameraman Mauricio Ayala traveled to the Ramón Villeda Morales Airport in San Pedro Sula this Saturday to witness the departure of Luis Palma, who kindly provided a statement.

Happy, when it comes to football, I'm always very happy," the national team player began. He also revealed that his signing was "quick thanks to the agency that manages him" and that he "is very happy to be joining a new club."

What did they tell you at Celtic? "We talked, and it was my decision to look elsewhere."

What did the Gold Cup leave us with? "Keep working and motivate ourselves to be better next time.

The Polish League is ranked higher than Scotland's: "I don't know, but I know it's a good league, with good stadiums, good teams, and we're going to learn a lot from them. My goal is to keep going and stay in good shape."

Did you speak with Professor Rueda about this decision? "Yes, I spoke with Rueda, but I did so more as a friend."

Message to Vida: "I was only training for one day and I really hope to * that Vida will soon be in the First Division.

Luis Palma was always set to leave Celtic this summer, and it looks like the deal has been done with Lech Poznan.
We exclusively told you how clubs in the MLS and in Mexico were keen on the Honduran international but wouldn't get near the £3million asking price.
And it has to be said, it's not much of a surprise to see other clubs digging their own heels in against spending that amount on a winger, 25, who hasn't played much for the Hoops.
His loan stint at Olympiacos didn't exactly go as he'd have liked either with only 12 appearances to his name and one goal as the Greek giants opted against a permanent deal.
The issue with Palma's Poznan switch is the fact that there's an in-built option to buy should it go well. Granted, we don't know the exact fee the Polish club will spend should they wish to do so, but for my money, it's a short-sighted move from Celtic.
Palma is better than the Polish Ekstraklasa. Say what you want about the playmaker's time in Glasgow, but he has played in - and scored in - the Champions League and won titles.

He has 10 goals and 10 assists in 48 outings in green and white, so there's obviously a player there, even if Brendan Rodgers isn't buying what Palma is selling.
One source inside Lennoxtown recently explained to CeltsAreHere how one common ploy from Celtic over the years has been to send players on loan to clubs perhaps lower on the totem pole than their own ability. Often, that can show them to be big fish in a small pond, and that drives up the price for guys in the shop window.
Alexandro Bernabei is a prime example. He played in Brazil on loan at Internacional and was named in their team of the year and among the best in the country last season. It earned him a move for close to £4million and, let's be honest, the Argentine left-back was bringing in nothing close to that before his loan.
That's why, if Palma can reach the heights this term fans know he's capable of, the attacker will light up the Polish top flight. That, in theory, then creates interest from more clubs and potentially a bidding war.
Of course, that is the best-case scenario. However, offering Poznan a future option could potentially put Celtic in a bit of a corner should Palma thrive.

That's because the club's money-men would rather accept less cash and be shot of the player and his wages than take a gamble on their man and risk being in the same spot next summer.
More than one person in the recruitment staff thought Palma was a good enough player for Celtic when he joined in 2023.

If he had the pace to match he could be a top winger, always added a goal or assist.

Could very do well there. Just doesn't suit us.

He's definitely more of a traditional no10 imo. Him and Tilio out...surely we are close to a couple wingers??

Slow-paced leagues suit him to a tee. No doubt he'll do well.
