Folk are going well over the top with the negativity, and I’m normally right up there myself, and may well be come the end of the window again, but folk are going on like we’re in a disaster, which we aren’t. The fact is, from the team that played away in Munich, only 5 months ago, and arguably deserved to win the game, we have lost two starters, and a third through injury. We have replaced Schlupp with Tierney, Kuhn has left, with us needing a replacement, and then Jota is the other which is unlucky. I’m never one for cutting this board any slack, but it’s far too early to be hitting the panic button.

Maybe not quite panic button, but right now our ‘strongest’ front 3 contains Idah and Forrest.

    That’s * grim.

    Agreed to an extent..

However, we've lost Taylor and Schlupp.. so an injury to KT before the qualifiers doesn't really bear thinking about..

As its stands just now we're starting Forrest, with Yang and Tillio as the replacements.. thats not acceptable.

With a CL Qualifier on the horizon these replacements should be bedding in now.

I am fairly positive about our new signings especially Nygren..

There's time but we need to be acting sharpish with starting talent.

I would feel a lot more comfortable if we could go into August with a month left, at least having sorted the wide positions.

Again we find ourselves selling a player before having the replacement in the door and sorted. Nygren evidently isn't it, for Kuhn.

If we can sign at least 2x first team wingers before August begins then it would set us up to hopefully address 2 or 3 other areas in August.

I still want 3 wingers though. Wouldn't even say that's unrealistic.

Yeah the more you look at it, the wide positions are literally a total mess as the minute . Essentially Jota and Kuhn down with no replacements and the dead wood still knocking about.

Louis Munteanu - some reports a 7MM bid for this guy rejected. Plays for Cluj in Romania.

    So it's increasingly looking like

    New striker in
    Idah
    Yamada

    Maeda back to left wing

Osmand and Kenny out on loans you'd imagine..

Then that leaves a space on the left for someone to come in behind Maeda and 2 right wingers, or someone who can play both sides and 1 main right winger, with a view to Jota coming back..

Took a look at our transfer rumours thread, Yamada aside we aren't going to sign any of the first 15 listed.
Can we press the panic button now?:55:

Agree, I can see that being the striker set up

On the right wing i see Jamsey being back but with Ben an option there if needs be and potentially Yamada

On the left Maeda starts and with Jota coming back in the New Year. It would not surprise me that we keep hold of Yang till January cause of Jota being out also knowing James can play on the left.

So i think its possible we see just a striker and 1 winger with that winger being mainly RW but can play on the left

That means a front 3 of Maeda New striker and new RW

With back ups being Idah, Forrest, Yamada and Yang.

I would prefer we punt Yang too and get a back but LW but with Jota back in New Year and Maeda looking like a left winger again, i dont see it happening

So our last signing was announced 2 weeks ago and by all accounts he is a "club signing" in the project bracket. He seems OK so far from what most commenters on here have said, but his signing was in pipeline weeks before this, as well as Shin Yamada by the looks of it. 6th of July was the date I heard.

So 2 projects in the last 2 weeks. Just over 2 weeks until the league starts and no idea when the first CL qualifier is, but it's not far off.

Starting to get a bit antsy with the lack of movement. As many have said, we have seen this movie before. Definition of insanity watching us doing business in transfer windows.

Likelihood is Jota will barely play this season or if he does it will be well onto new year and he'll be trying to get up to speed.

By the time he's back fully fit we will likely have punted another couple of forwards and have a new manager.

It's more likely Jota replaces Maeda next summer so we would still need a left winger in now

Im with you on that, where i disagree is i dont see us signing 3 first team level players in the forward area. I believe the club will sign two. [ To avoid any doubt i would consider a second choice LW that would play in 25 or so games to be a first team level player]

We have known both Kyogo and Kuhn were for the off months before they left and we have replaced neither.

I do hope your right and im wrong

Yeah I doubt we will sign 3 either. Id like us to sign 2 quality wingers and then move Maeda back up top, with him essentially being the back up option for left wing

I don't believe we made a bid for him. Smells like bullshit.

Apparently bid 3mil for the Swedish boy who moved for 10mil.

Apparently bid 7mil who's moving for closer to 15mil.

We will quickly become a laughing stock and teams will be reluctant to deal with us unless we are right in with a decent offer.

Seen a thing the other day when Simon Jordan said that Daniel Levy used to make increases of 50k at a time. Lawell puts that * to shame.

Bidding decent fees (for us at least) but knowing full well it nowhere near valuation. Just so we can come out at end of the window and say we tried, moan about an inflated market, say we won't be held to ransom blah blah blah, and continue to stock pile cash

Same team who played utter dross at times since that game in Munich, still that same side, * against the Zombies and shat it against Aberdeen in the Scottish cup final. You could also say that to be fair.

we badly need real quality in and once again we are all watching the same car crash time and time again regarding this being reactive instead of proactive.

Gonna be an interesting few weeks now. I would imagine signings really slow down now and we, in true celtic fashion really drag out the bigger spends now. I can only see another 2 maybe 3 signings being made now.

Annoyingly, I reckon we will see more CMs signed and we won't cover the CB position at all.
