Parts of Orlando make Pollok look like Beverly Hills.

My recommendation, if you’ve done Kyoto already, is to spend more time somewhere else.

I still like the place but crowded is an understatement. I understand that as a tourist I was contributing towards that, but by the end of my time there the large obnoxious tour groups were doing my head in. Just too many people at the more well-known sights.

Gifu and Nagano prefectures I liked as a contrast to the bigger cities. Would love to get up to Hokkaido or south to Kyushu one day.

For Tokyo or Osaka go to a baseball game. Good fun. Hanshin Tigers at Koshien if you want the best atmosphere, but I went to a game in the Tokyo Dome too and it was still great.

I also took the unagi recommendation above - can confirm it was great.

I missed the train to Miami and had to get the Greyhound once.

Being in and around the bus station there was genuinely terrifying. The ticket counter is behind a cage and you’re frisked for guns going in but the staff don’t really give a *. There was a guy doing coke off the toilet cistern and then smacking his head off the wall and repeatedly shouting at himself in the mirror, and this was at midday.

Blizzard beach or the pollok centre pool?
All seriousness im well aware that as soon as you go a couple of miles outside the tourist bit in Orlando it can be * boyz n the hood country . Made the mistake of getting a local bus from Kissimmee to the airport . Had to change at intermodal bus station the place was genuinely terrifying in the middle of the day. Police tape outside a liquor store across the road . Stick to the beaten path now.

Postponed my South America trip because the date I booked is going to end up too close to when I’m going to be moving home. Will go next year instead. Had only booked a flight out to Chile and managed to get most of my money back on that so nothing lost.

Booked flights out to Japan again instead,
for November. Flying to Fukuoka and then going to explore Kyushu and Shikoku. Also planning to hop over to Seoul for a weekend.

Just back from my trip home to Ireland. Always good to be home and the weather was unreal. Ridiculous how warm it got there for a few days.

Most likely yes. Always good to get out of the crap winter weather in Chicago for a bit at that time of the year and well enjoying christmas on a beach beats snow and cold any day for me.

Tarmac literally tearing off the road at Culdaff beach last weekend, was mental warm.

Been a good week altogether, especially with Donegal getting through to the GAA final - place has been buzzing.

I can imagine the temperatures were insane for Ireland there for a few days. Just unreal stuff.

Good luck to Donegal in the final I hope they go on and win it they have been IMHO the best team this season.

Expérience was sensational honestly, we will definitely be returning - soo many highlights, hard to single out one. We didn’t spend all of our time at the beach, going inland (centrally) to small hikes and stay in a tree house accommodation (Very cool). However, the secluded turquoise beaches we stumbled upon in Propriano was truly a magical experience - hardly anyone too. Bonifacio quite the tourist trap but in the evening the historic & scenic town comes alive with a light/laser show - never had seen anything like it. Porto Vecchio is as advertised, very memorable

We heard so much about how challenging locals can be but I found them quite authentic and friendly. Plus, the islanders love dogs and our Golden was able to be on most beaches

Bastia the low point but look forward to returning

Sounds like you saw a bit more of the towns than we did as we were mostly hiking the GR20 route, but glad you enjoyed it. Would love to go back there and see it more.
