He came back over weight last season
I say Rodgers has him on strict diet over summer and hard pre season so he be firing on cyclinder come Aug.
We need stop trying walk ball into net and just hit them into box first time for him to try get head on it

He is not good in the air at all, you’re more likely for Daizen to get on the end of a header.

In fact correct me if I’m wrong but i can only remember one header Idah has scored at Fir Park.

Also can’t think of an easier thing for domestic teams to defend against us than crosses from deep.

I know this is beating a dead horse, but it really is criminal what we paid for Idah.

All the chat about goals etc. I think he will score another 15-20 this season easily but that's not really where my biggest gripes with him are.

His off the ball and on the ball work needs improved big time. He comes across a bit too lackadaisical for me at times. Wouldn't mind if he countered that with excellent hold up and link play but we aren't even getting that. I don't think I've ever seen him win more than 1 header in a game, for a guy his size.

Idah's problem is he's just not a very good footballer. He has some decent physical attributes but limited ability and a poor attitude and work rate. He'sa monumental waste of money and will never make it here. He'll score some tap ins and the occasional nice looking strike but over the course of 90 mins you can count on 1 hand how many outstanding performances he's had. Nowhere near the level required and never will be.

Really don’t want to be negative in pre season but the boys absolutely honking. I never go into a game thinking * yeah we’ve got Idah up top. I really don’t care about how much we paid for him, he’s simply never going to be out nailed on no1 striker

Think he just lacks aggression tbh. Letting his talent slip away from him.

The fact he was the only outfield player subbed off should be a wake up to him.

Though, we've been saying this all last season that he needs time/preseason/games/insert any excuse.

As others above have said, he simply isn't a very good footballer.

20 goals was good for backup, but when you dig in to those 20 goals, often they are goals scored after we've pumped a team 3-0 in the first half and the opponents are beaten already - as in he's not actively dominating and leading the line to win us games, it was often goals that meant heehaw.

The fact we can all name the 2 or 3 decent games he's had in 18 months is quite alarming. Killie in his loan spell and Aston villa, hardly consistent performances or showing he wants this main striker role for me.

    What talent though?
Can agree the lack of aggression is a big factor as well, but as football talent goes, he doesn't have much of that either.

Based on what we've seen tonight you'd keep Kenny and loan Idah out

Not good enough but first goal he scores everyone will be saying how he's coming on.

He is far too clumsy on the ball and not clinical enough at putting the ball in the back of the net.

Kenny put him to shame. Amazing what a bit of effort and intensity can do.

    And a first touch.

He's no much of a ball carrier
    Isn't aggressive enough
    Doesn't press well
    Doesn't link the play well
Just isn’t busy enough in terms of effort

I think Idah scores more goals for us than Kenny, comfortably but all round and leading from the front, is what you're wishing Idah had to his game..

No way Idah gets in front like Kenny did for the pen.

Seems like he plays only for himself - trying only to get on the end of chances and not to contribute any where else.
Even then plays at 90% effort.
    That sitter was a shocker.

I know it's a friendly, but it's also the continuation of a longer sequence from last season - with no evidence of a step up in effort or ability so far.

Shape up or ship out big man.

A lot of idahs goals last season came when we was already 3 or 4 up in games and opponents defeated.
I'd be more confident in Kenny unlocking a defence or making space/breaking the lines when we actually need a goal

See what that Harder done for them basically get the ball down and use his size and pace to run at defences. I don’t know why Idah can’t or doesn’t do that. He done it vs Villa and looked decent but taking the ball back to goal is definitely not his game. Him and Maeda in the forward line isn’t a good mix either as neither are good at taking the ball in.
