With Yamada to come in to the squad as well, that really is grim reading.

    upload_2025-7-16_12-43-26.png

Doohan, Montgomery, Murray, Kwon, Tilio, Osmand, Kenny.

That is truly worrying the amount of players NOT good enough for our squad in terms of quality IN depth.

    From the starting 11:

Forrest and Trusty should not be in the starting 11, immediately we need them replaced (no slight on Forrest, he is older and I doubt can do a full season, hasn't done in years).
Jota is out til the new year it seems still.

    From the backup 11:

Ralston, Welsh, Scales, Inamura, Yang, Bernardo, Palma - can all be replaced upon. I'd willingly allows Sales, but the replacement of Welsh would need to be on a par with CCV in that case.
Ralston I can accept will remain as backup, but we can't surely then be also relying on Inamura for the left side. The entire backup defensive line wouldn't be fit for a top 6 side in our league if they all played together consistently. Their is no quality in depth there.
The attacking midfield/wide 3 could all do with massive upgrades as well! Bernardo I like the look of and would hope he has more to come, but it is unlikely to see him suddenly jump two levels this season. Depth to the wings is atrocious.

    Squad fillers:

Doohan isn't worth talking about, in fact it still baffles me why we signed him. I don't buy in to the quota nonsense, because when folk say that they equally will say "not like he is gonna play anyway" so in that regards, why not just stick with someone like Clark who is 20 and fine to be that 3rd choice/quota option.
Montgomery isn't gonna cut it, how many years is he with us now and hasn't broken in? Lads 23 in two days time - he's not a young prospect anymore, he's stagnating his own career by being here.
Tilil, Kwon and Kenny - I like the look of Kenny, but when we signed Osmand, that surely signalled the end of Kenny time?
Murray is injury prone, but I do like the look of, if we got rid of Welsh and Scales in favour of a quality option to partner CCV, I'd be happy to see a fit Murray play in the squad.

In short 2-3 absolute quality short in the first 11
6-8 short in decent squad depth quality
5-7 deadwood need shot off - edit to add, more than 5-7 if we were to properly replace the 6-8 squad players. could be 10-14 needing shot off.
2-3 youth options can then get their shot/"pathway"

Yep, we seem completely incapable of multi tasking and appear to only be able to do 1 deal at a time.

Yamada deal has been all but done for at least a week but we knew he wasn't available until 15th so did Nicholson just * off on holiday until Yamada was back?

Everything we do is so unprofessional and outdated, which isn't really a massive suprise given majority of those running the club have been in post for well over 10 years.

Hopefully everyone knows something I don’t but I also find it interesting that most people have Nygren down as a guaranteed success given he’s not kicked a ball for us yet.

Tierney is clearly a fantastic left back but is made of glass, as is Carter Vickers which makes up a huge part of our defence.

If the two of them appear in the same team more than 30 times together I’ll be thrilled, but shocked.

We should have been building for this since January....Something Ange seemed to want more than any other manager.

This is all too late....To bed players in for a multi million pound tournament again is * disgusting from all involved in this.

I'm trying not to fall into this category of people that know this season will be an absolute * show as usual 3rd season managers all are.

At the same time as much as i hate this * board....We spent 21 million pounds on what at the moment looks like absolute dog *.....A striker that is lightweight and kinda pish...Engels who i'm many people opinion has been a * disgrace in many games....and a defender that is all over the place....

So giving this kinda money again must be on their mind.....Having said that....This is a tournament we should be at and in every year....its mindblowing to think we need to kinda sneak into it before money is spent when we have a bank balance as much as we do.

We have been poor with this window and if we don't get out finger out real soon we will struggle especially of these players here just now are just adequate.

I personally wanted Rodgers to be gone last season....Leave on the possibility of a treble last year and say thank you...go out in style as his football was starting to remind me of his last year here and the * show that was.

I will get behind him and hopefully proove's many of us wrong and does something miraculous this season.....But if this goes * up and players don't play against that * across the road like they did last season then we also hand that * automatic CL qualification next season.....So there is a lot at stake this season which is even more enraging that our board are not all over this.

Sickening.....every season is the same....take out all the fun of it.

Im also glad though that we are not just buying any old * from down south like der Hun....so hopefully a lot is going on behind the scenes.

Think we will sign a CB 100% , and one winger 100% and Yamada looks done.
Other than that I have no real faith we will see much .

Can see us going with Maeda, new winger , Nygren, Forrest as the 4 options until Jota is back.
We need a CM but think the manager will persist with what we have .

I still think we will see/need four more players signed this window. A LB, CB, CDM, LW.
If, and I know its a big F, we get Nazinho, that would fill the LB back up spot, with Inamura going out on loan possibly. Balikwisha if signed can play both wings, and that would give us Balikwisha, Nygren, Forrest and possibly Kang for RW if still here ?

A CB definitely needed. Someone in the mould of Youte would be ideal, with Welsh and Trusty on the move I suspect. We definitely need a powerful and pacy CDM in midfield. It is inconceivable surely that we would risk going with the present midfield contingent into the Champions League and Derby games again.

A winger is still the priority, for me.

For me too. Even if you don't get a CB in at the very least we are as good as last year but no Kuhn or Jota on the wing is a huge huge loss.

A quality midfielder, preferably DM should be our number one priority but we’ve ignored it so long even the support don’t ask for it anymore.

I felt our midfield was far too easy to counter last season and we’ll be exploited again this season if we keep focusing on wingers.

    One winger isn't enough.

Need 2 at the absolute minimum. We needed thar whilst Kuhn was still here.

This, definitely a powerful quick defensive mid is needed (we’ve only been needing one since Wanyama left).

You can look at our strongest 11 and say we ain't too bad. BUT that's assuming nobody gets injured, suspended or has a dip in form.

And also with the resources available to us we are miles away from where we could comfortably be.

2 wingers is a must, assuming Maeda is being used there. If not then we need 3.

Even that first 11 had Jota on a wing who is out for most of the season and Forrest who can’t play 90 minutes and will inevitably be injured. The midfield are three good players but very lightweight and left centre back is still a weakness.

That back up team is the stuff of nightmares especially up top and at the back.

You've got a point with the wingers mate. Its a disgrace with how well off we are.

Forrest should be the 4th or 5th option on the wing at best going into the new season. Anything else is just negligence. And that’s nothing against Jamesy.

Honestly wondering what in the actual * we’re playing at. We’ve got 100 million pounds sitting in the bank.

We won't get a proper quality DM while McGregor is still playing.

Managers are continually going to play him as a 6 bcoz for 90% of the games we play he's ideal

Yet another transfer window where we shoot ourselves in the foot by not signing quality in time to get them bedded in for CL qualifying, a professional set-up would have replaced Kyogo in the days after he left, it's now the next window and we're still waiting for selling clubs to be desperate enough to accept our ridiculous low ball offers, it costs us more, Idah a prime example and this is every window. I've stopped spending money apart from ST and maybe European games (depending on signings) until our board at least tries to act like professional football people rather than over promoted accountants.
