Worrying lack of RW rumours, we've had links to almost every other position at least, but need to speed up on that front.

I'd just like to see a steady influx of signings. We started well. Don't want there to be nothing for weeks, and then panic buys at the end. Let's get the squad bolstered early and announce we have nothing to do on deadline day.

 

I know we got a decent amount done early but we need to liven up and get some real quality in now..

I'm no panic merchant and it isn’t at that point yet (for me anyway) but the season is only just over 2 weeks away. There's glaring weaknesses across the first team and our squad in general that need sorting..

I thought we'd have brought in more first team players by now to be fair..

The rumours seem to have dried up.

I'm still not convinced there's anything in the Nazinho link. Edouard link is dubious at best as well, given the source. Balikwisha...if we wanted him he'd be here already.

Absolutely nothing seems even remotely close.

 

@McChiellini.. Like you say the league is just over two weeks away. Imagine the nirvana that would be all our 1st team signings have been bought and had a couple of friendlies in preparation for it starting. I mean ffs, madness that is.

 

Aye we usually get a week or two of Edouard rumours … then Ajer … they’ll
probably get a Christie rumour in a few weeks too.

 

Honestly thought we'd have a few in this week but not looking to good on the front.

 

The reason they don’t get nothing from there is it sounds like the folks in Portugal have very little to do with our transfer business other than Rodgers and previously his assistant, so John Kennedy being involved in transfer meetings.

Both of them are experienced operators so your not getting anything from them.

 

The lack of depth is a real concern..

We painfully need game changers on either wing..

We all know we need a centre half to partner Carter-Vickers and some competition for Carter-Vickers also on the right..

The left back sounds decent as a backup for KT. Would be happy enough with that if it happens..

Yamada as an option with Idah and Maeda. No bad although the fear is Maeda goes wide left with Jota out..

Desperately need more physicality and pace in midfield..

I think there's been a constant power struggle between Rodgers and Lawwell.

We seen it the 1st window Rodgers returned when Lawwell and Lawwell jr dumped a bunch of unwanted players upon him. For Rodgers part he basically refused to play them and 2 years later nearly all are gone.

Happened last time he was here and many speculate Ange started looking for a way out the moment Lawwell returned.

I think their will always be a clash between any ambitious manager and our board.

For the past 20 years, essentially Lawwells reign, we have simply been happy enough to reach the champions league and pocket the cash. The board don't care about being competitive.

It's why we are in a cycle of managers doing 2 to 3 years tops and then walking away

 

Riding our luck if we go into the early fixtures with what we have . Need some in within the next week for them to be remotely ready for flag day.
