1 think we're 2 pacey, physically strong players from a really decent side. Those positions being CB and DMF.

We're clearly looking at wingers and Yamada appears to be the CF we're looking at. But these 2 positions need to be prioritised.

The wide positions are a priority at the moment and rightly tbh.

    Our options there are mince.

Honestly think we need a good 6 players or so. The squad as it stands is still really light on quality.

It’s clear we need to add some power. Midfield in the second half looks like it could ran over the top of.

As has been the case for years, really, a * load of work needs done.

Our squad is brutal. You’re probably looking at 7/8 who are genuinely good players who you would have confidence in. A few bang average squad fillers at best. And a whole load of dross.

We're desperately crying out for pace, power and just options across the first team and squad depth..

There's no pace at the back
No enough pace and physicality in the middle
A real lack of pace now that Kuhn's gone on the wings, depending on if Maeda goes up top but even with that....we need a lot more

We need some serious work now and no more punts. First team, game changers only. It's a must..

A really quick centre half that takes no prisoners
    An athletic, physical centre mid
2 or 3 game wingers that can light it up whenever they get it and do damage

    Get it done..

Said in the other thread, never a bad thing with a pre-season loss, shows us where the squad is at and what needs done.

Quite clearly need two wingers and a CB in, those need to be our next 3 signings.

Get the Yamada deal done and go head on getting another two wingers.

Agree with this, Yamada should be the last player we sign for a bit that isn't squad filler (Not including whoever we sign a LB, who will obviously be squad filler)

Two Wingers and a CB next.

I agree with your 6 players. Just can't see it happening, so just dampening down my expectations.

I see 1 CB coming in, going with CCV, Scales, Trusty, new CB for the season.

2 new wingers in. Going with Jota (when fit), Maeda, New RW, New LW and Forrest. Yang to be used until Jota is back and then sold in Jan.

Would love a hard, fit pacey CMF. Just think thats lower down the order unfortunately.

So overall I'm thinking maybe 4 tops. But your 6 good players of Nygren level would be spot on. Just cant see the board going for the 6.

Brendan Rodgers insists Celtic are working hard behind the scenes to get more transfers over the line.

The Hoops are closing in on the £1.5million signing of Kawasaki Frontale striker Shin Yamada.

And Rodgers also has a couple of wingers on his wishlist in the wake of Nicolas Kuhn's £17million move to Como.

He said: "I think there's work going on behind the scenes. It's clear we need to improve the squad. A lot of work is going on behind the scenes, there are loads of names floating about."

Royal Antwerp wide man Michel Ange-Balikwisha has been heavily linked and the boss admits firepower is a necessity.

Rodgers said: "I think the positions you've mentioned, we're clear that we need to improve our frontline.

"We lost Kyogo in January and another player with Nicolas gone. That's a lot of goals that's gone out of the team.

"So for us, we need to strengthen that area of the field. But the guys back home are working hard on that."

Kieran Tierney made his long-awaited second debut as the Hoops fell to a 3-2 behind-closed-doors friendly defeat against Estrela Da Amadora in Lisbon.

Having lost Greg Taylor over the summer, Celts are in the market for cover at left-back.

Japanese defender Hayato Inamura has been the surprise package in pre-season and Rodgers admits he'll continue casting an eye before dipping into the market.

He said: "The pre-season is always to assess. We know the model here at the club is always to improve them.

"Sometimes that means they come in and you assess and look, and look to see what's right for the development of them and the team.

"That's what I'm about, getting a collection of individual players that I can see development and improvement in.

"If they are going to be close to the first-team, they'll stay and do that. If not, we may feel they need to go out.

"Ina's that example. I just wanted to get the chance to see him and we'll continue to do that.

"But we know in the background that if we need to move on that position, that if we need to move on that position, that's something that we will be ready to do."

He thinks. A think he is quite rightly knocking back sub standard players we have scouted.

For the start of the new season we need two new wingers and a starting centre back.

Beyond that we need more physicality in midfield especially if both full backs are going to be attacking. We need cover at left back for Tierney too and probably a back up centre back for CCV.

Thats 6 players as a minimum functioning squad. Our wide options up top are shockingly bad for a club with the resources we have.

We definitely need starting quality and strength..

I'd be happy with one CB of real quality.

    A DM or robust CM.

    Two quality wingers

    Yamada

And a different type of LB, to cover KT..

Haven't see any sign of a change of formation yet.. but will hopefully see that tried soon.

    Schmeichel
    Johnston CCV New LCB KT
    Engels/New DM McGregor
    New RW Nygren/Hatate Maeda/New LW
    Idah/Yamada/Osmand

I'm still not sure if Osmand will stick around. Looks to have talent but could still be loaned out.

Dreadful for a club with our resources.

Idah being our first choice striker gives me the boak.

rodgers is like a broken record ,lots of work going on behind the scenes ..etc fact of the matter is we had a much stronger squad when ange left. having tierney back is class but we are in desperate need of cb,cdm,lw,2xrw and a striker

    Quite excited about Yamada tbf..

    Maeda is an option too.

And when we spend £9m on a ST he's definitely going to get a shot at no1

My fear is the balance of the midfield, it definitely didn't work at times last season I'd hope to see that addressed.
