I don't think for a second his dad mouthing off in the press will have any impact us approaching him or not, he isn't the first footballer's dad to talk * and he won't be the last. It is possible Miller is only looking for a move abroad, but if we know that and aren't bidding it'll be because we've made contact with the club/player and they've told us that directly.

Also he’s what 18/19? Two/three years with us and he moves at 21/22 to a club ‘abroad’ as we’ve seen o’riley have the chance to and now Kuhn. The pathway is there to do it.

if I was him I wouldn’t be leaving Scotland just yet.

Ferguson was 22 when he left for Bologna and played a solid 5 seasons here before doing so. I think miller should be advised to hold off just yet

He has never come out and said he doesn’t want to come to Celtic. If he had no interest in coming to us, we wouldn’t have bid for him in the last window. These messages are very easily conveyed to clubs through third parties.

I know what his Dad has said, but nowhere has he said he point blank said wouldn’t move to Celtic. Unless you can provide a source to prove me wrong or mistaken? Maybe he would prefer a move abroad, but he hasnt said no to us. We wouldn’t have wasted our time with a bid if we didn’t believe we could get him.

Tbh I think it's quite simple. He'll go to where he gets the offer of the most money. If that's celtic, he'll come here.

Not sure it will be a money decision in the end, maybe will come down to whoever offers Motherwell the most money, but whatever happens we should be making him an offer he would find very difficult to knock back.

He ‘wants to move abroad’ is an irrelevance to the fact we haven’t bid for him therefore don’t want him.

Or have we asked and been told wants to move abroad and we dont want to waste time or energy when we have had no encouragement from the players camp?

I don’t think Rodgers would have any interest personally. And, for me, I don’t blame him at the figures being thrown about.

COMO are set to follow up their £17million move for Nicolas Kuhn with a swoop for Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller.

SunSport understands Cesc Fabregas’ Serie A outfit have Scotland’s young player of the year on a transfer wishlist.

The £4.5million-rated midfielder is also a target for Italian rivals Udinese, who had a previous bid thrown out in January.

Celtic winger Kuhn is finalising his move after flying to northern Italy for a medical.

But while monitoring the German last season, Como kept tabs on 18-year-old Scotland new boy Miller.

Now it’s believed they are preparing a bid to secure his signature amid an ever-growing list of potential suitors throughout the UK and Europe.

Championship sides Southampton and Ipswich Town are also admirers as they look to return to the top flight following relegation last season.

But Miller’s father and former Scotland striker Lee recently declared his son’s preference to follow Lewis Ferguson, Josh Doig, Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay by heading abroad.

Jens Berthel Askou, meanwhile, has confirmed clubs have ramped up their interest in Scotland midfielder Lennon Miller.

Motherwell’s new manager admitted he was planning for a season without the starlet when he was appointed a month ago.

Miller will be involved in tomorrow’s Premier Sports Cup opener with Clyde.

But Askou, who has landed left-back Emmanuel Longelo from Birmingham on a two-year deal, admits it feels like the day the 18-year-old leaves Fir Park is getting closer.

He said: “Lennon is part of our plans but there’s interest in him constantly, like every 24 hours.

“It’s still there and it’s increasing more and more as clubs get more and more active.

“That’s an interest he has created by performances. It’s not like it’s going up and down. It’s busy around Lennon.

“There’s nothing concrete right now but it could change quickly.

"There are other people also dealing with it within the club who maybe know more than I do.

“Eventually that interest will form into something concrete and an offer and something he wants and we want in the club. Right now he’s here and he’s happy, we’re happy, everyone is happy. I spoke to him an hour ago.

“He’s really pleased with the role he has and what we are trying to do because it suits him really well.

“But we also know the time will come when he will take the next step. If it’s this summer, then time will tell. It could be.”

Well threw out offers from Union Saint-Gilloise and Udinese in January for Miller, who won his first caps for Scotland last month.

Askou added: “The transfer market goes so fast today and Lennon has done more than enough to make himself interesting for bigger clubs.

“When you’re that young and are performing at that level it attracts a lot of interest from big clubs. It is understandable.

“We have to be calm. No matter what happens, it’s a positive for Lennon, for us, for the community and for the club that’s going to buy him.

“The most important thing is that it will be the right move for him and it will be the right deal for us.

“If he leaves Monday, because things can suddenly go fast, then we’ll try and get a new player in to replace him as soon as possible. But no matter what, I think it’s very positive for everyone. I can’t see any reason to be stressed about it.”

Askou admits Miller has more than lived up to his expectations.

He said: “He’s one of these boys where everything he does looks easy. I know that he’s working and has worked really hard to get to where he is, but he’s just a natural.

“No matter what he does, if he plays darts or golf, whatever, it looks as if he hasn’t done anything else with his entire life.”

He could surprise us all, and stay at Motherwell. He will be a free agent next year with lots of options. Ideally we could try signing him and leave him where he is for another season.
