Nope probably not under these * BB. You have to ask why though? There’s around 100m in the bank so why aren’t we spending this money. Something is far wrong.

One of the main issues is we (the board) continually compare ourselves to that mob across the city!!!! We should be comparing ourselves to clubs of a similar stature to ourselves in Europe and mark ourselves against them, not that other mob.

The cheap John approach. I thought we would have made a real statement this summer and whilst there are a fair few weeks remaining in the transfer window we should have had the players in given we have a CL playoff.

Big Ange is coming back isn't he? It's already agreed I bet. BR will see out this season while Ange has a year off to spend with his family and maybe do a bit of scouting.

Something is really off. There’s no way Brendan had picked these Japanese players as ones he wants. We sold Kyogo and gambled the rest of the season without him. Now Khun gone and we know Brendan will want another step up from him

my bigggest fear is this horrible game the board seem to play. We can’t pull too far away from Rangers as it will loose the domestic competition.
I genuinely think as a moneymaking board they would want rangers winning a league every now and then to keep our interest there

I think the way they see it. We can spend 100 million and probably still just get to the last 16 of the champions league. But loose domestic interest
Or spend the very minimum and keep the weekly ticket sales as we are in a league title race

If Rodgers is leaving again maybe the board don't want to spend big on signings that the next manager won't fancy hence taking punts like the boy from Fulham and the Japanese boy. Personally if that's the case I'd rather they just told Rodgers to sling his hook now.

I don't know where all this talk is coming from that Brendan is leaving, I don't see any indication of it, maybe its wishful thinking on some people's parts.

From what I can see, he wants to build on the Champions League success of last year, and winning the double, it should have been the treble, but we won't go into that again.

We can see what the Huns are doing, who they are signing, and what their new manager is up to.

At the end of the day, its what we do that counts.

Judging is part and parcel of being a football fan, and honestly, as @CountyDownFaithful said, how many times have we Celtic fans seen this movie.

Ppl are judging because theyve seen this board pull this "throw enough * at the wall" approach to recruitment time, time and time again; Then hilariously brag about how much we spent at the AGM, even though 80 odd percent of the new recruits aren't fit for purpose.

The scattergun approach of hoovering up signings for cheap has never worked in terms of football, but successful enough financially, as at least one if the punts will make back the total spend.

Im actually quite happy with the 3-4 of the signings/ links, but have concerns also.

KTs injury history is a worry. As is Balishikawa's if Im honest. His manager stating he missed pre season training because he isnt ready to be pushed.

The rest is, lets say, par for the Desmond golf course.

Ppl chatting about Rodgers leaving should remember its just how this board operates, and always has.

"We wont make the Champions League every season". Peter Lawwell.

Until we navigate the qualifier no "real" signing of intent will be made.

As it stands right now, we're in trouble.

We still need a LB, 2 wingers, a striker, a CB and a defensive centre mid.

Ppl are right to be worried with these links imo.

Might be related to him only having a contract for the upcoming season. Not to point out the obvious but ...

Call me a panic merchant if you like but I’m disgusted with how this window has gone so far

Alarm bells should’ve been sounding after how the last few derbies have gone. We made millions from Frimpong’s move. We’re making another £17m from Kuhn. All of this on top of the 70-100m we had sitting in cash.. and we’re balls deep in the pound shop constantly.

I genuinely fear there’s a serious chance we could * the league away this season if we don’t get the finger out.

I’m away back under my rock

See being fair you could benchmark yourself against different clubs for different things. For example -

    - we may want European progress akin to a Club Brugge,
    - transfer business maybe a different club like a USG, Feyenoord, Lille or again Club Brugge.
    - youth development Nordsjaelland, Salzburg, any of multiple Scandanvian clubs

No two clubs are identical so you don’t need to say we want to be like one club in everything we do. It would be a proper strategic exercise looking at where we are in each area and who are clubs that work in our budget but excel at these things compared to us. Where do we want to get to what can we do to close the gap? Create a long list of options and then whittle it down to the short, medium and long term. Put in place the right people to then deliver that both within the club but possibly through partnerships.

It wouldn’t surprise me if a big part of the problem is those running the show don’t want to take a hard look at how we could be better and prefer to just keep telling themselves what a great job they are doing.

We would never have every player we wanted done and dusted by 10th July even if we were a bit looser with money. Transfers, especially the ones you want, just don't happen that fast tbh. Not at our level.

All well and good but at the end of the day, you can't judge a full transfer window when it hasn't even been officially open a month.

You can ofcourse make assumptions, worry, have concern and panic. But you can't judge it till its done. Same as anything. That's what I'm saying. That's just a fact tbh.

We could in theory go and spend £20m next week on 3 players, would that alter peoples judgement? Is it likely to happen like that, naw, but it could happen.

We have seen the movie before aye. We all know that. I'm often vocal about our approach to the footballing side of things, bit I just don't have the energy to repeat the same concerns day in day out on here. We will sign more players. Will they be of the required quality? Just need to wait and see.

We all know there will be a net profit on transfers, probably a very healthy one.
1.5m and a free transfer are your lot up top for starters.

Always wary of mentioning the Huns because as much as we’ve seen Celtic mess up transfer windows, we’ve seen just as many false dawns from the Huns.

However, football does change and it can change quickly. We were second best to them in head to head games last season - with the exception of the first game in September, we never managed to implement our style of play / game plan in any of these games.

Their squad is already looking better for this coming season and although Martin is unproven, he will give them an identity and style that previous managers haven’t.

We need to forget that Rodgers is potentially moving on next year. A well run football club would continue to improve their squad in conjunction with a DoF regardless of manager because having a strong squad will help to attract a good replacement manager as well as give you the best chance of getting into Europe and maximising profits.

Once Yamada comes in you know that's the strikers done, the level of investment there is a pretty good indicator.....
