See some idiot stopped by a roadside and started taking pictures of himself and a bear cub…so the mother bear sensing danger kills the guy…drags him into a ravine - and she gets put down for it.Now we’ve got a dead idiot - a dead bear and two motherless cubs.* despise humans in all honesty.

I don’t get how they go punishing the animals in situations like that… it’s like Thete has to be sone sort of retribution when the blame is with the idiot in the creatures environment..

    Let the animal go on…

Celebrate the idiot being removed from the gene pool.

Just arrived back in Oslo after a trip to Spitsbergen…

I was there to do landscape photography and capture the big mammals…

Got quite a few bonus shots some of you birders might be interested in.. just heavily adjusted low-res transfers for now as my files are way too big to upload…but lots to sort through once back in U.K.

Puffins are a pig to capture on the water… really skittish and duck under at the slightest twitch.

    Arctic Ptarmigan (Snow Chicken)
Arctic Skua (possibly nesting on high point)

    Can’t help being drawn back.

    The place is ‘otherworldly’.

As someone who hates Summer and loves the Winter and the cold, that looks like my idea of heaven. Throw in some wildlife and I'm happy

That beyond idiotic selfish entitled * of a human got what he deserved. Makes me so angry and upset about the poor murdered mother bear and the now orphaned cubs.

These total idiots would not stand for wild animals coming into their homes but they think it is their selfish right to disturb wild animals in their natural habitat.

My good friend is right Johnie. Sensational pics. Love the Fulmar. I showed my daughter Caroline the picture of the Six-Spot Burnet Moth. We've seen them a few times, especially over in Elie, Fife. As you all know ,I'm not moths and butterflies biggest fan, but Caroline lies them. She thought your pics were superb Johnie.

Thanks Pete :50:, these are my first Chough pics, they're very jittery birds and fly off before you can get near them, i wasn't too "chuffed" with the shots but next time...

Thanks John :50:, sorry, i forgot about your aversion to the wee winged creatures :84:, the Fulmars and Gulls were a joy to photograph, they were gliding on the thermals and rising up to the top of the cliff were they were at eye level to us.
