Loan with a option strikes me of just hedging our bets. Let Maeda, idah Osmond and this lad fight it out.. most likely Maeda and idah win that battle and we see very little of the other two..

Direct contact today too. As anticipated yesterday, negotiations are open between #Celtic and #Napoli for Ambrosino.

Yeah definitely, no risk…. Covers that area across the season. No huge outlay for a person to be 3rd/4th/5th choice.

Maeda if reports are to believed has made it clear he wants to play striker next year (I think he’s earnt that right also btw) and will only sign an extension if this is the case.

that would leave us with Maeda-Idah-Ambrosino-osmand-Yamada in that order I’d imagine.

Kenny will 100% be sold or loaned as Rodgers himself has said a load of clubs are in for him. Osmand id imagine is a signing the club hope will be a hit but there’s no instant expectation for him to be amazing. Yamada isn’t even confirmed yet so could actually be a Yamada/ambrosino choice.

It absolutely could be the case we go into the season with 2 solid options and 3 back ups. This doesn’t even count any current youth strikers we have

Ambrosino, going by the longer video, seems like he can play across a variety of attacking roles. So, he may come in as a versatile option. If we are to go back to having an attacking midfielder, I'd hazard a guess he may be back up to Nygren, while also being able to cover up front and at left wing. He looked as if he was everywhere in that youtube video.

It makes absolutely no sense to have 5 strikers for one position. The further you look into the latest tweet, the reporter says we are discussing a sale, not a loan, in one of the comments below. So, for me, it's either he comes in and plays in an alternative position or Maeda is clearly being punted back out wide.

Loan with buy options are best of all worlds - try before you buy!!

You’re definitely right about the signings we’re looking at all being versatile. Definitely looks like anyone we’re signing attacking wise has the ability to play everywhere. But I’d be very very surprised if we convince Maeda not to leave….. and then move him back to a position he doesn’t necessarily want to play in.

We may move him back to the left wing for 6 months until Jota is back and fit. Just seems like an awfy amount of strikers to have on the books and while I can see why we would sign Ambrosino for his versatility and his age and also Osmand for his age... Yamada just seems like such a strange signing. He's coming 26. Just bizarre links coming out of the club at the minute and they're from decent enough sources.

Okay if its a loan with an option to buy makes it a bit easier. Seems more likely Maeda will be our main left winger until Jota is back then.

Just talked with my Mate, an absolute Napoli fanatic, says he doesn't want Napoli to sell him, thinks he's class.. wouldn't mind a year loan..

That will do for me.. sign him up

I actually think having a player like this boy as centre forward would allow us to get the best out of Maeda as a left winger. You could easily see the two interchange throughout the game with Ambrosino happy to drop deep or drift wide and allow our two wingers to come in and essentially make a front 2. It would also leave the room wide left for Tierney to bomb on and overlap, providing the width.

That second video shows where he may not be the most prolific, he does have a lot of things you would want a striker in our team about him, he can play back to goal and receive the ball, he can link play and has good vision, he has pace and ability to actually fashion chances for himself and or others, physically he looks mature for a 21 year old.

Similarly with he links to the Rapid winger a centre forward of this ilk would work well with him by the looks of his game.

On a loan or sale, I know it’s not always accurate but transfermarkt is suggesting he only has a year left on his deal so if it was a loan he would need to sign a new deal.

I think Ambrosino, despite also being young would be brought in expected to play a big part in the team once settled compared to Osmand.

I would say he's a level above a project like Osmand, considering he's already fairly experienced for his age.

Having watched his longer video, I can definitely see a lot of potential. He's good at linking up & holding up play, he has decent pace/strength, can dribble. Comes from a good academy in which he seems rated. A LTB will be worth it, if theirs one manager who can develop a rough around the edges player with a lot of potential then it is Rodgers!

Based on the footage, he's never an out and out striker. More of a 10 / second striker / winger.

Was just going to post something similar. He looks pretty talented, though: strong, with a good touch and good vision. Also drives the ball forward well, but tough to get a sense of his pace, given the competition. I doubt he’d be signed for the Maeda/Idah/Osmand place.
