Be sad to see him go, always thought he looked good and as others have said the only CB on the team sheat in front of him would be CCV.

Always seem be Rodgers weak spot....Using Bitton as a CB etc.

I never understood Rodgers aversion to him, whenever he filled in as a necessity last season he didn’t look out of place imo.

Can’t imagine the option to buy is very much and I think we’ll regret it if Hannover have a strong season, they’re one of the better sides in the division after all.

 

No worse than Scales and Trusty from what I've seen and even has a few points where he looks better. He's never really been given a fair chance by BR, I feel, but there you go. To make matters worse it looks as though this Japanese lad, who I'm guessing is coming in to replace him, is a worse player.

 

I think we all know he didn't get a chance here because Rodgers took some kind of dislike ro him

 

Word on the chats is Rodgers asked Nawrocki to learn Spanish so they could speak to each other, but Nawrocki wouldn’t do it….

 

I’ve no idea why folk continue to compare him to Scales and Trusty. Any time he was given a game last season, it was when CCV didn’t play I’m sure and he played on the right side of centre half. For what it’s worth also, I don’t think anyone could say with any certainty he is better than Scales or Trusty anyway.

 

that’s the problem for me, all 3 are much of a muchness, we need a level above to partner CCV. I’m still willing to give Trusty some time but at the moment, there’s a big drop between CCV and whoever partners him.

This reminds me of MONs last season. We had 3 average goalies in Douglass Marshal and Hedman. I kept saying we should just tell one he was first pick, but we didn't we just choped and changed every week.

If we had stuck with rocki for a few games I think he'd have done well, but we didn't

 

Including an option to buy is daft given how low his stock is atm.

 

I do wonder how much that option is. It is not uncommon to set it at a high level say what we paid for him to protect us a bit and then if they want to actually sign him we negotiate.

 

Same here, he is right sided. I would like to keep him as back up for CCV.

Rodgers sees him every day in training, there's a reason he wasn't getting picked and it's likely due to ability.

 

Well if he rates Scales higher than the others then we should be getting shot of them all. Nawrocki granted in a much smaller sample size for me was the best of the rest at CB towards the end of last season regardless if he stayed or went I would like to see us sign a CB to come in to the first team as Trusty was supposed to

 

Rodgers also confirmed that Polish defender Maik Nawrocki is heading for German second-tier side Hannover on a season-long loan.

The 24-year-old has been hindered by injury, managing just 18 appearances for the Hoops over the course of his two seasons after joining from Legia Warsaw in 2023.


“Maik’s never really consistently been able to stay fit and really take that spot,” said the manager. “This time last year, he started a game for us (at Ayr) and then he got injured and was out for a number of weeks.

“So, he’s had a couple of years where he hasn’t quite got the games that he would have liked. So it’s important that he goes out and plays.”
