The club open to all tag is, for me anyway, is promoting diversity and acceptance of those who are on the oppressed side.

Aye. I've always associated it with being open to those feeling oppressed and basically anyone that can't be viewed as right wing or in simple terms, a bit of a *.

Him having these political views is a less extreme example e.g. Hes not a *, and I'm sure plenty of our fans probably would side with him nowadays tbh.

A club open to all doesn't mean a club where you won't get your baws booted for acting like a *

I think if all the political views of every season ticket holder at our beloved club were there for all to see there would be a lot of disagreement to say the least.

Rod loves Celtic to the bottom of his heart and back and is a pretty dam good performer and international star who gives fantastic global coverage of our club.

And did you see him at Glastonbury, he was superb and 80 years old, and what a last 5 minutes. I also loved counting the Celtic tops in the crowd.

Great post mate. I don’t like his music or his politics but his absolute love for the club is without doubt.

Nah not for me mate. The fact he loves celtic doesn't mean I can't dislike the company he holds.

    E.g. the guy

Well I am positive you would totally disagree agree with many things thousands of Celtic season ticket holders would say on politics. Each to their own I suppose. Rod has does a lot for animal charities and looks set to do a lot more for example. Each to their own I suppose. Of the Celtic fans I know most do not mind him.

PS Anyway he is not actually a politician, and is the not the first and will not be the last big star to say silly things.

Aye as some have mentioned. Clearly loves the club, clearly promotes the club like no other person can or would do, from outside the clubs perspective.

That being said, his views are rank, his politics are minging and his music is absolutely * woeful. He's a bit of a clown, as well.

But aye, it's a free world. Certainly wouldn't demonise anyone from Celtic Park for having any views. It's your individual right. As Shelby said, I definitely think a lot of the older fanbase would probably share those views.

Dont give a * to be honest on anyones views on politics, religion, stuff like palestine etc etc, I support Celtic, I support none of the aforementioned, doesnt interest me at all or take a second of my mind up at all, couldnt care less.

I like Rod, I like his music and the bonus is he loves Celtic.

    Totally agree.
RS comments re: give Farage a chance( I’m unsure if these were his words verbatim), but the sentiment was there.
I certainly don’t agree with Rods political views, however I’m not in the group that want him to * off or never to darken our door again for having a personal opinion, which doesn’t break the law and is hardly a hanging offence.
He promotes Celtic globally, long may it continue, personally I enjoy seeing the hoops promotion.
Political views of all Celtic supporters would be wide and varied and some may agree with him,are they also to be hounded out of the club for having an opinion.
IMO a Celtic supporter should support with all their might but don’t disgrace the club i.e don’t cross the line…..and that is where people disagree…….where is that line and who determines where it is drawn.
I appreciate every supporter on here has an opinion and obviously it varies….(those who loathe RS views/comments and those who don’t mind)…….As an older supporter,I don’t think he has crossed the line(yet)……the common denominator is we ALL support Celtic FC…Hail Hail….away to watch the game tonight on TV:ynwacelti

I agree, seems like a decent guy, does a load for charity, and undoubtedly loves celtic.. I find his music dull though. Never really understood the attraction.

Couldnt give two hoots who he votes for. The idea that voting for any legit political party makes someone a bad person or less of a celtic fan is ridiculous.

    Big Celtic man Rod Stewart

Despite his father having been a supporter of Hibernian,[161] Stewart is a supporter of Celtic, which he mentions in "You're in My Heart". He supports the Scotland national team and follows Manchester United as his English side, and he explains his love affair with both Celtic and Manchester United in Frank Worrall's book, Celtic United.[162] Stewart clarifies this more in his 2012 book (pp. 163–64), Rod: The Autobiography, mentioning he "only had an attachment to Manchester United in the 1970s, but that was because they had so many great Scottish players in the 1970s, including Denis Law ..
