People absolutely kidding themselves in if they don't think Nygren is Khun's replacement.

    £17m in
    £1.7m out

Lawwell and Nicholson's absolute wet dream

Nygren could well be a replacement but reckon he’ll play in centre mid more often than not.

  2. John Bhoy79

John Bhoy79 Head in the clouds. Mind in the gutter.

He mostly played RW for his Danish team last season so you'd assume that's where we've bought him to play.

  3. People keep saying it and I really don't understand why tbh

He played entirety of last season as a right winger.

If we stick with 433 that Rodgers has religiously stuck to since returning then I really don't see him starting ahead of Engles.

If we are going 4231 as many think we will then he's either back up to Hatate as the 10 or he's Hatate's replacement if he goes, if he's viewed as a starter.

Both of them options seem a lot less feasible than him being signed to play in a) his natural position and b) the position in the starting 11 we now have a huge vacancy in

Nygren and Forrest will he the right wing options for 1st half of the season at least.

Imo we need two left wingers, ideally 1 of them would also be able to play off the right to make us less reliant on wee jamesy.

  4. If Kuhn goes they’ll definitely bring someone else on the right side.

Even if you’re thinking cynically, they’ll want a player in that position so they can sell on in the future so if there’s a slot there they’ll bring someone in.

He was played as a narrow inside winger, he’s also played up front and in centre mid. I think he’s been brought in to cover a few positions but to me he’d suit the Rogic/O’Reilly role as a box to box mid on the right hand side.

Rodgers likes a lot of pace from the wings, while Nygren isn’t slow he doesn’t have that burst of pace like Kuhn or Forrest.

  8. So he's either backup to Engels or Engles is gonna end up on the bench bcoz that's position he played last season, definitely not same style of players tho.

You mite be right but I have my doubts.

I’d say we’re more likely to see Engles at sitting mid or in a double pivot with McGregor this season, especially in Europe for the latter.

  10. It's not just the Nygren deal that makes me believe we are going back to a 4-2-3-1. The reason we played McGregor as a sitting midfielder was because we had protection, certainly centrally, from the inside fullback. Taylor played that role well, as it was really the only role he could play. Tierney won't be doing that, simply because he can't really do it. So, without Tierney cutting inside to link the play with McGregor, we will need someone else to drop, which will be Engels and where we will see the best out of him, as well.

Also, he didn't play the entirety of last season as a right winger. He played 30 games last season, only half of them (15) were played as a RW. He played as a LW(8), midfielder(6) and up front(1). As someone mentioned above, FC Nordsjaelland play very differently to us in the sense that their wingers play far more centrally, as you can see from his clips. It's a very narrow front 3. When you look at the 198 games he has played in his career to date, only 75 of them have been played as a right winger.

He won't be back up to Hatate because Hatate doesn't play as a 10. I think he's likely to go anyways. Even if he didn't, he would swap with McGregor and Engels because he's far better when he gets the ball deeper and links the play to the forwards as opposed to being a forward himself.

He's absolutely viewed as a starter. He's been outperforming many players in the Danish League last season for a team who are consistently churning out talent like it's going out of fashion. You're getting bogged down on the fee far too much. I don't care if a player costs £1.7m or a player cost £11.7m. I just want good players and Nygren is a very good player.

  11. Fatboab on KDS cryptically saying we aren't in for this boy. Interestingly enough, he also says the same about Balikwisha.

People still don't genuinely believe this ITK *? It * peaked for me when someone suggested they were getting information from a * painter in doing their gaff.

Believe me if someone is getting information they won't be on KDS or TC repeating it.

    Attention seeking behaviour.

I doubt anyone outwith the boardroom has any info. The republican fella has got a * ton wrong as well.

  17. Tbf, you’re not going to have any “ITK” be correct 100% of the time. *, you could have Lawwell, Nicholson or Rodgers on here trying to give information before the dotted line is signed and they’d still be wrong at times.

I don’t use KDS so can’t really comment on the guys on there, but the fact that Orjasaeter himself has publicly stated he was carrying his passport around because he thought he was coming here in January kind of shows how unpredictable transfer business can be.
