Excited about this one, hopefully gets plenty minutes and builds a bit of confidence early doors as he's definitely got the potential to be a top player. Great work landing him.

 

Have a really good feeling about this guy...looks like he was ready for 1st team action at Fulham but has decided we're a better option... hopefully has a similar impact as dembele... worried I'll be wrong and he's a tick tock type

I think we need to stop assuming Maeda is staying. There is massive interest in him this summer and I think its a huge ask to keep hold of him. As much as I'd love him to stay I find it unlikely.

Can't lie - struggle to get excited about signing young talents from down south. Feels like we've signed a bunch over the years that have flattered to deceive.

Hopefully manages to make the step-up though. Looking forward to hopefully seeing him in pre-season.

Totally disagree. I think there's every chance. If a team offers us the right fee we'll sell.

Personally though, I don't think Maeda will go now, unless it's a really good club that comes in for him. Nothing about him suggests anything other than a devoted family man, who has never been anything but completely professional off the field - and remember, he didn't just jump at us either, but instead came alone on a "commit to buy" loan so he could scope the lay of the land for his family, before bringing them with him. That's a sign of a mature, responsible person so he's not likely to throw caution to the wind and grab a quick payoff from a mediocre outfit Vs his settled family, CL football and medals/adoration with us...

Yeah true.

Dunno just feels like more often than not they don't end up doing anything. But he does come with a similar profile to those above in terms of ability and potential. So fingers crossed

 

I'd say those signed for rhe development squad never really lived up to the potential but this deal is defo more on the dembele bracket
