If that's the case I'd of preferred a Scottish Signing to make up the quota

Kind of gone off him with all the analysis that’s out there.

Plus one of his weaknesses is strength which we saw Kobi look absolutely honking when he played.

Will be interesting to see how we use him if he doesn't go straight out on loan.

If we sign another CB alongside him, then I'm fine with this. I think Lagerbielke, Welsh, Nawrocki, Murray and Trusty will all be sold this window, so that only leaves us with 2 centerbacks, easily room for another 2.

Still feel by his videos his future is at LB, he looks rapid and good on the ball, a bit wasted a CB.

See to be honest I like my centre backs hard as nails and winning everything in the air. We hugely lack threat from corners.

By all accounts that's his two biggest weakness :56:

Exactly mate. Creative midfield , decent wingbacks to support the forwards and two hard * in the centre. Our two biggest flaws are we get bullied and are no threat at corners.

If this is our only cb signing then it’s poor from Celtic , unless he thinks trusty and ccv are our starters

Yet when we play nawrocki especially in the Aberdeen game away he scores with a header and for some reason Rogers won't play him regularly.

If Jullien, Trusty and others can't handle the physicality here at times this guy doesn't stand a chance as a CB.

    Left back, maybe.

A lot of it is to do with mentality, though. Jullien and Trusty are just quite soft. CCV and Johnston are guys up for the fight and a battle, the other two aren't.

Inamura might fall into that camp as well, but if he can be coached into being more aggressive (and put on some beef) then you never know.

We absolutely need a quality CB bought on top of this though.

I think it was mentality thing with them tbh.

Trusty was fantastic against Lookman, handled Rogers well and kept Sesko quiet, yet he let Simon Murray man handle him.

    Jullien the exact same.

His second video deffo showed good traits
    Pace
    Passing
    Ability to beat a man
    Crossing

Be interesting to see what our plans are for him, is he a seen as someone to fill in for KT? Looks more like it than a centre half..

The trouble with Trusty, Jullien and even Lenz wasn't that they didn't have the size or strength to cope in a rough league like ours it was simply that they had no heart for it. You could see it made them uncomfortable and, I suspect, they even found it distasteful, being used to a more technical style of play.

My mind is telling me this won't work, unless he plays LB. But my heart is already floating off into imagination, creating mental images of the Japanese Baresi.:56::52:

If he's coming with a view to be turned into a LB then he might just get away with it, but if he's coming here to play CB he has disaster written all over him. The amount of CB's we've brought in over the last 10-15 years who were apparently 'good on the ball' really annoys me, because most of them couldn't actually defend, which is their main job. We need someone of a similar quality to partner CCV. This guy is gonna be sat firmly behind Scales and Trusty in the pecking-order by the looks of it.

He obviously has a lot of good attributes and his second highlight vid showed what he could bring. Trouble is, up here you do have to be a bit hard to succeed as a centre half, and he looks like he has 'bullied at the Tony Macaroni' written all over him. It sounds totally ridiculous, but some players just look soft, and it's that kind of thing strikers here feed off.

Hopefully he proves that wrong, because some of his clips show how good some of his attributes are. Composure, passing range, ability to drive forward and break lines.

I'm not convinced tbh lads. The league he's coming from isn't helping me either, seems weak as * defending wise and as we saw from Kobayashi. Think what also isn't helping is we said similar things about him when he arrived and he was by all accounts more established than this guy.

Of all the CBs to go for this just seems really risky. As said above though we'd definitely need another one brought in if more experience. If we don't then serious questions need asked.

Aye I'm no gonna lie, he doesn't convince me much as a centre half..

Think he'd getting chewed up and spat out..

I can see good things about his game but why can't we just go out and sign a big, quick * beast that'll no just spit you out but swallow your bones as well. Someone that strikers will avoid getting in to battle with out of fear. * all this tryna fit Someone in and change their game..

Someone that'll nut the back of heads 'by accident' and chin guys for no showing for the ball..
