Next year we finally will have a left back capable of that again.
And that's the reason he shouldn't be kept as back up, he's the complete polar opposite of Tierney so would mean constantly having to alter the way we play when he's in the team to cover his deficiencies.

Schlupp or Matthew Anderson would be much better fit as a backup

 

Best post on this in some time. He could never ‘backup’ Tierney; they play totally different interpretations of left-back.

 

A loy of the stick he gets, myself included, is bcoz he isnt Tierney, who for me is everything i expect from a Celtic full back, strong, aggressive, bombs up and down the line, gets ball into the box.
Being here at the same time as KT is only gonna highlight that even more and highlight just how big a drop off it is, similarly to how it is between AJ and Ralston.

 

I buy this.

 

As long as he is getting bullied by 500k St. Mirren players he is not worth 20-25k a week. He should be realistic and agree anything we offer or then search for his luck elsewhere. Reliant backup but not more if we want to further improve.

 

He's definitely leaving then, AJ's comment on that post says it all. Good luck to him, he's been a great signing.

Just keeping folk guessing

 

I liked him but think he’s sort of took the * out of us. A good scout could probably find someone valued at around 3m as good. I just don’t trust our recruitment and would like to save the money and use it elsewhere

 

When you see performances like today and it's not a one off it's hard to argue he deserves the wage he is rumoured to want. I rate him much higher than Schlupp though

 

I thought Schlupp could’ve been great for us but his performances just don’t justify keeping him.

Taylor gets a shocking hard time off fans and I think when he moves into midfield he is more effective than Engels!

Of course we can do better, but we can say that about every player in the team.

 

Aye looks like he's a goner. Sad, he's been good for us, despite what his detractors say.

True indeed but at the end of the day, just not good enough. That boy skinned him today so easily, to get in a dangerous cross was trademark GT.
Hopefully, we move on from him and upgrade, he has a nice haul of medals that he can show for his efforts.
