M8, i've no idea what your arguing about, you've practiclly agreed with everything i posted.
The only reason i don't want the songs sung at Celtic games (as well as the banning stuff), is that they make people angry, and with the alcohol fuelling the occasion, it creates a nasty atmosphere, which, as you mention is not good for families.

But your earlier attack was far too strong and abusive.

I might be mistaken but I thought you were one of those advocating it?

sadly you cant stop people learning and singing these song unless you are thier mum or dad...thats when kids learn how to behave in all walks of life when they grow up......the only way to stop the fans singing in the grounds is to hurt the clubs....bans/points taken away ect ect...but then you get other fans acting like your own club to get points deducted......glad i aint got to try and sort it out:31:

:56:Offensive ? These songs IMO make the atmosphere good rather than the pish we have to be content with at home , where we're told to sit down by other fans who in no way contribute to the atmosphere and who just come to moan and have something to eat.

When peole are stopping going to games, because they don't want their kids exposed to it, then you need to reasses wether its ok.

    Agreed :50:

Kids going to games and hearing this stuff grow up thinking it is ok to sing these songs at a football match., when it isn't, if you want to listen to them at home, or in some irish pub or club, whatever, that is fine, but not a Celtic game.

Well if football songs dont please people at a footy match then they should quit football and take up politics. No place for that stuff in a footy game. I think the away singing is an embarrisment with all these people who sing about everything but football. When will people undertand that standing in a country (Britain) and singing republican anti British songs will ofend many (its similar to loyalist anti-Irish songs being sung in Ireland IMO) and always make the home fans think that us an Rangers as as bad as each other or two sides of the same bad coin. If that sort of thing became common at home games again I would stop supporting Celtic and wouldnt let kids near the place. Also, its getting boring listenng to stuff about troubles in Ireland when its all over.

may be he should take his son to the opera.

oh no, some football supporters drink alcohol! they are even drunk!! how do they dare! next time they will shout "* rangers"... what a bunch of antisocial *.

next time I'm at CP I want everybody to be quiet and sit down, because I want to enjoy my game and hot dog.

Why should he be put in the position where he has to make a desicion to stop taking his sons to a game of football?

It's a football match not a Republican march.

If u think IRA songs make an atmosphere 'good' mate then theirs something wrong.

Your completely missing the issue, its not about 'whether you sing' its about 'what you sing'.

I happily sing at all games and believe that, unlike the huns, we have plenty of brilliant tunes that create a great atmosphere without mentioning the IRA, or British * soldiers.

SO what a couple of swear words and drunkenness. His sons would have heard worse I presume. Although maybe not.

So you think people at home half - heartedly singing 4 leaf clover is a good atmosphere?
