Japanese forward Daizen Maeda has become a hot commodity in the Premier League transfer market, with several English clubs expressing strong interest, according to Caught Offside sources.

Fulham, Brentford, Crystal Palace, West Ham United, and Leeds United have reportedly joined the race for the 27-year-old attacker, who has been a brilliant performer for Celtic.

Celtic, aware of Maeda’s rising stock, have placed a £25 million price tag on their prized forward.

This valuation has not deterred Premier League sides, who see Maeda’s versatility, pace, and goal-scoring ability as attributes that can strengthen their attacking options

His performances in the Scottish Premiership have drawn attention for his tireless work rate, sharp movement off the ball, and ability to press high up the pitch.

The 27-year-old has scored 33 goals in all competition for the Scottish club this season.

Despite the transfer rumours, Maeda has remained firm in his commitment to Celtic.

The Japanese international has publicly expressed his happiness at the club, citing his strong connection with teammates and satisfaction with his role under manager Brendan Rodgers.

“I am happy here. The chemistry I have with the team is special, and I am not looking for a move,” Maeda recently shared with local media.

However, the attraction for Premier League could convince the player of a move to England.

Clubs like West Ham and Crystal Palace, in particular, are rumoured to be preparing substantial offers to sign him.

While Maeda remains committed to Celtic for now, the coming weeks will be crucial. Should a Premier League club present a compelling offer, the player could be convinced to move.

Why do we always cap ourselves at £25m?

I'd be disappointed losing him for less than £40m.

    The guy is unrivalled

Leeds are a big club and obviously back in the big league....but the window isn't even open yet. You would think he would be looking for 50k plus if he leaves us, not sure what kind of money they will pay players now , alot of teams go up and just bank the payments and don't really give it a good go .....

Not even sure how we would go about trying to replace him if he did leave. We've lost better players in the past but we've never had a player like him before that does so much work for the team as well as chipping in with goals. Be a massive miss when he goes.

Forget it, mate. Sometimes we lose players that can't be replaced in our situation. Daizen is one of those.

Brendan Rodgers has issued an injury update concerning Celtic’s Scottish Premiership match against Aberdeen, as he revealed Daizen Maeda would not be risked at Pittodrie on Wednesday night.

After playing 90 minutes against Hibernian in Celtic’s 3-1 win over David Gray’s side, Rodgers admitted that the Japan international would not take part in the penultimate league fixture for his side. During his pre-match press conference, Rodgers said: “We have a couple of injuries

but Daizen (Maeda) is recovering. He came in this morning with a little niggle, but he trained. We are keeping him here to give him some treatment and to make sure he is okay for the weekend and the following week.

“There is no need to take any risk with him, but apart from that, the same squad

Maeda has been an ever-present member of Rodgers’ attack, in what has been a breakout season for the versatile forward in front of goal for Celtic. In 49 appearances this campaign, the former Yokohama F Marinos forward has scored 33 goals, assisting a further 12 in the process.

For his efforts this season, he was named PFA Scotland’s Player of the Year, as voted for by his domestic opponents. Pipping teammates Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn, as well as Dundee striker Simon Murray, the 27-year-old has been in sensational form for the Scottish champions, who look to complete a domestic treble once again under the incumbent manager.

Maeda has already achieved this feat once, during the 2022/23 season under Ange Postecoglou. The final was to be his final game in charge of Celtic, before moving to Tottenham Hotspur that summer
