He and KT will allow flexibility in formations which could be excellent..

However, I stand by my earlier comment, the issues arise when we need to play him v better opposition. Where's he regularly overpowered, outpaced and targeted..

If we rotate them regularly, the issues against better opposition won't be an issue. We'd play Tierney against the huns and away to better SPFL teams/Europe, and play Taylor in the majority of home games.

Tierney and Taylor as left back options would give us the best 2 left backs in the country as things stand and don't see the Huns upgrading their left back position with a player equal to or better than Taylor in the Summer either.

Tierney being the upgrade on Taylor will help us out loads in Europe imo and also the versatility to cover at CB.

That's if KT can stay fit.. even with rotation.

That’s the hope, but we know if Taylor does extend the back up is a proven winner of an option. And a very different type of option.

I hope we change up the way we play when we have either of the different styles on though. Something that’s became increasingly glaringly obvious when Taylors been benched, and highlighted on his return, the way we set up in midfield only properly clicks when Taylor is able to play that inverted role, supporting and making space for Calmac, playing off him. Then the two infront of McGregor have space to play. Without that, ot’s disjointed

Thought he was really good again, great passing ability and generally solid. Hope the rumours about him signing extension are true.

The new baby might be the deciding factor in him staying.

It's possible, and I believe we are doing everything possible to retain him. He's beat off all challengers over the years, including Valle and likely Schlupp now.

Aye another good game. Had his obligatory pin point through ball in the first half which deserved a goal, and was generally excellent at supporting attacks, linking play and creating space.

Sign the deal ya wee *.

Thought he was really good again, we might have to give him more than we’d want to be back up left back but he’d be incredibly difficult to replace in the squad. Games like this his positioning and football IQ is so important to us.

And out of nowhere it suddenly looks like the end of Schlupp.

Taylor played well today and position looks like his for the closing weeks of the season.

I need to start appreciating what Taylor brings to us more than I do. Tierney would clearly be levels above if he stayed fit but Taylor would be a terrific rotational option. Deserves more respect for what he's done here than he gets from me and many others.

Done well today and clearly has a top attitude.

I wouldn’t be adverse to him staying and for a few reasons but even though he will play a lot next season if he does, he would have to accept he is a clear 2nd choice. There seems to be a wee shift in mentality from him recently which is showing in his performances and maybe married with the fact Rodgers is giving him more freedom.

I think its more to do with lack of contract offers from elsewhere (I never believed that Zagreb nonsense).

Shift in mentality isn’t something I’d think for him, his mentality has always been excellent. And it’s been pointed out by players talking about leaders in the team, and he’s always highlighted for that.

He always works hard, never hides and gives everything even when he’s getting it from his own fans.

His game and attitude at Ibrox is the exception and I thought he’d chucked it and was huffy, but that’s a one off not a trend and was unusual.

Don’t think he’s changed his mentality, him being out the team, coming back in and being key for us returning to form the only mentality that’s changed for me is the support with him.

Taylor as a player and what he does with that inverted role is actually * excellent. It’s a shame that his major drawbacks and flaws are down to things out of his control, height, pace physicality
