Who we get as manager next, I've not thought about specific names. I'm in the camp of keeping him long term.

But I'm with CalMac here, the names linked (and strongly at that) of recent years are the sort we should always be going for.
Howe, Ange(unknown I know), Rodgers, Maresca, Iraola - different levels of experience but all rising managers to degree and successful.

Keep searching that level of manager and less of the Lennon's, Keanes, Coyles, Mowbrays please.

Thats interesting. I do think John Kennedy could be given a chance to make a name for himself as a manager. I'm guessing he has ambitions and behind the scenes he has enough experience.

I hope it's not Kennedy and don't think the club will do that.

Everything aside about how we seem to do job for the boys and insist on staff on new managers - I was very disappointed in his interim spell and felt he didn't do remotely enough to show he is capable of being a manager for us.

A dead season and he had the chance to come in and shake things up, do things his way, he just kept things the same.

No chance Kennedy will be Celtic manager. Doesn’t have the personality for it for starters.

Kennedy has found his calling in his current position, and he's excellent at it. Don't think he gets the credit he's due personally.

A lot of people go on about DoF and all that, to create a bit of continuity when appointing managers. As long as Kennedy and Strachan are there that's not something we need to worry about imo. They two have become an outstanding coaching team, one that can adapt to any manager coming in while helping said manager settle in quickly.

I reckon JK will want to continue his current role for years to come and am all for it.

As for the OP question, I've no idea. But I've every faith we'll be keeping tabs on talented managers/coaches across Europe and will make a good choice when the time comes.

It's a hypothetical question, but if you twisted my arm up my back, I would plump for Sean Dyche.

Interesting topic to discuss, I'd worry if after a sustained level of success under Rodgers. The board could get lazy and go back to being complacent.

Ending with a type of signing in the style of Ronnie - where we get that type of level of manager and then throw in Scott Brown as the "he gets it here" support option to help them adjust to managing Celtic.

Bringing the 2007 managerial shortlist back would be strange I will grant you that.

I've alway thought Dyche is a good manager.

I think he would be a more expansive manager in the SPL, if he ever got our job, make us tougher physically and mentally, and get us going in the Champions League, in saying that, Brendan is doing all of that now.

I've got a soft spot for Broony too, so if the job did become available at some time, I would be rooting for him too. :giggle1:

He is a good manager, but I wouldn't be entertained watching his football. I think he's more of a good manager to get the best out of a limited squad. It's a good skill to have but I'm not sure it would transfer over well.

Anton Rodgers, continue the dynasty and knows what it means to play for the club.
