Think he was injured before the Falkirk game

    Hence why Bain came in

Looking forward to seeing him tonight. Always thought it was a game he was likely to start anyway

Pretty quiet game for him but looks good with ball at his feet and his 'sweeper keeper' edge of the box positioning was good at times.

Looked well ropey at cross balls and even the one he tipped round the post was a weak effort that was going well wide..

Passing got better as the game went on..

Needs to punch the ball harder, twice he basically punched it onto the penalty spot from a corner, that's exactly where the opposition want it.

    Very raw

He's insanely young for a keeper.

He's one that's highly rated, was down south. Will need time.

Schmeichel at 22/23 was on loan ar Bury/Falkirk. Another good example is Emi Martinez, has taken years to get to where he is.

Its a difficult one as if the intention is for him to take over from the latter, people will need to accept the odd heart attack moment.

He's very young for a goalkeeper and it will take time for him to build up his experience, remember this was his first time between the sticks for Celtic, so to get a clean sheet is big for his Celtic career.
But yes, he needs to learn to punch the ball harder, and ideally out to the wings, well away from the danger area.

23 for a goalkeeper is quite literally 17 for an outfield player.

They can have all the promise in the world, but are never truly ready to step up. Wayne Rooneys etc are an anomaly.

Artur Boruc took four years to break into the legia first team squad.

Fraser Forster spent 6 years as a senior player at Newcastle without a single first team appearance.

Joe Hart was on the Mam City books for over 5 years before a break out loan at Birmingham persuaded them not to send him out loan again and give him a chance.

Sinisalo looks very VERY promising imo. Has alot to learn. And it will take years before hes ready to be our No1. But sprinkling in first team appearances can only be good for his development.

Probably should have loaned him out to develop with an emergency clause inserted into the contract that we can recall him at any time, definitely should be loaned out during the Summer, Schmeichel will be No.1 here for years if he keeps sustaining his current level

Nah. He’s still really young for a GK, I’d much rather he was learning off Kasper. It’s not as important for Keepers to get game time experience as outfielders.

Plus if Kasper gets injured I don’t want Bain coming in. As it stands Kasper has one more year, his chance will come.

I agree with him needing game time.

For two reasons, firstly (even Kasper says this in the podcast this week), you can train all you want but you don't develop til you get game time.
He's gonna stagnate here. He's went from being a first team pick at Exeter(?) to now not getting anything at all. Not even cup games, which was the fans hope.

Secondly, the whole development and what we can offer players is just continuing to be highlighted how poor our ability to do this is. Which will continue to hinder us on attracting young talent to come/stay.
If we can't get them game time (here or reasonable level elsewhere), then players won't bother.

At this stage, Sinsalo would have developed and been better for him to have been exter first pick.

Hes spoken a few times about his development plan which was discussed with him when we signed him and he seems fairly happy with it. He's also said himself, that you don't go from Exeter to Celtic's 1st team.straight away so seems to be a sensible lad and far more patient than 17 year olds in our academy.

Add to the fact he's competing against a guy who's been one of the very best keepers in Europe over the past decade so he's not gonna throw toys out the pram either.

Ideally he would of got more games in cup this season but unlike certain other clubs we don't tend to get too many lower league teams in the cup and haven't been able to rotate or rest players. We've only had 2 lower league ties out of 7 and he was ill for one of them.

Id expect him to get a few games after league is wrapped up then expect to see more of him next season as he moves onto next phase of his development plan
