If we don't it will be another 30 million. Can't see him leaving in the summer though

If only he could stay with us for longer (sadly - no chance) he'd seamlessly fit into the CalMac's role

He seems a level headed lad and know s he will get serious minutes here and grest experience, think he's referred to that already.. he's only here to develop but thankfully he's here for now..

Hardly put a foot wrong in his last 20 odd games. Solid.

Brave from Brendan to take Calmac off but it’s been coming for a while. It has to get to a point when you can’t just keep playing a player constantly because of what they’ve done previously as some sort of goodwill gesture.

He’s outstanding, absolutely light years ahead of anyone else in the league outwith Celtic. Actually looked even better when he dropped one when McGregor went off and was a big reason on why the momentum of the game shifted so drastically. Properly had a grip of the midfield after that when we looked all over the shop first hour.

Love the fact that he's only young but still has the confidence to take on the responsibility of taking penalties, cool as you like.

Really needs to work on his shooting and movement in getting into scoring positions on a more regular basis, especially as an attacking 8 in this system which makes that an added responsibility of his, it's severely lacking from his game, hopefully coaches have him practicing his shooting regularly after training, he needs it

For example, McCowan was only on the park 20 mins yet had an effort that crashed off the post from outside the box and then another effort from inside the box that was cleared off the line, two big unlucky scoring moments within limited minutes, whereas Engels has plenty game time yet rarely has shooting moments like that in games and when he does, he either balloons it way over the bar or hits it straight at the keeper over 95% of the time

2 non penalty goals (with one of those being from a deflection) is not an impressive return from plenty games as an attacking player for the best and most dominant side in the country by a distance

Also needs to stop pulling rank on free kicks when he's been nowhere close with any of them, either putting them miles over the bar or straight into the wall, Jota scored a free kick into Courtois in the Bernebeu, when Jota is on the park, he should be on them

Like everyone else said, we probably looked better when he dropped deep. It does look like that position probably comes more naturally to him.

Heart in mouth at times with them at times. Needs more power and conviction.
But he is a cool head and he is just growing so much and doesn't shy away

He was good again last night, especially when he dropped in. It seemed to free up the full midfield, with McCowan playing well and Hatate really pulled some of his top drawer stuff out from that point on.

To be honest I think the keeper was giving him * just before it and he wanted to make an * of him, he was mouthing off at him after it went in. Was a great penalty because you’re hardly ever going to miss ones rolled down the middle like that, 99/100 the keeper will dive and he’ll dive too high to save it with his feet.

I think his performance at 6 was promising but the whole team lifted in energy and quality last 30mibs.
Not only because Engels dropped back
    Hattate was superb too.
