He's just not a left back, we can't have Tierney & Scales as our two choices there.

Agree but i would rather play Schmeichel and LB instead of Taylor. We need to give Schlupp a deal. Maybe even a 3rd LB given Tierney's injury record.

It was awful defending. So basic.

Would love it if he left in the summer, but sadly I can’t see it.

He’s very clearly a left footed CB, optimal on that left side of central defense - but absolutely not a LB

Surprised to read he has divided opinion, the player I saw for at least the 1st half of the season was the most reliable defender at Celtic

Think it’s harsh on him last night, he done fairly well for being out of position and the boy had him for pace. Showed him down the line and missed his tackle but Kasper very rarely gets beat at his front post like that.

He’s good back up for a left sided centre back.

I might be a bit biased as he's from where im from back home but I am hating how he is being treated this season. I get it, he had a shocker against the huns, but he has been shunned since and rarely sees much game time. He was one of our most consistent players last season and came along so much. Now it's like he's forgotten about and gets hate when he's a bit rusty. Trusty hasn't been perfect since he came in and has made a few mistakes. Think they've handled scales poorly. He could have played way more games and gave the lads more of a rest for the bigger games. He's still a solid defender once he has game time

He's played 31 times this season. Started 4 out of the 8 UCL games and started a lot domestically up until the turn of the year.

I don't think he's been treated that harshly. Rodgers clearly has wanted to build a partnership between CCV and Trusty.

I think the latter was quite harshly treated when he was hooked in the cup final and dropped the next game or two after having a solid 2 or 3 months. I found that more bizarre.

I'm sure he will still get a few more starts.

Horrible cameo last night. Gave it away almost every time he to touched it, then got caught totally flat footed for the goal.

Being honest I'd like to see a first choice centre half coming in with Trusty and scales as back up.

I dont mind Scales, I think he is 22 or 23, where as Trusty and CCV are 26 & 28 (i think)
Remember Scales was a kid going no-where other than likely to sign for Aberdeen, if he is paying attention in training, if Rogers see's enough to invest in him, then he is hopefully going to continue to improve. Decent back up for left sided CH, possible emergency cover at RB. Not 1st 11 yet, but might be. Not European standard, but might be.

I've came to that same opinion too. We are going to need a no nonsense pacy CB in the summer.
We are getting carved wide open too easily through the middle recently, some of which is down to our porous midfield, but it needs addressed by the management , and addressed quickly, starting with a tough away game to an inform St.Mirren.

    * you are right.....he turns 27 in the summer.

    * me that shortens the odds on a prospect waiting to come good

We should be looking to bring in another CB in the summer at least at the same level as Trusty.

Scales is 4th choice level of defender

If we were to bring in a center half in the summer, I would be wanting better than Trusty, especially ball playing ability.
A lot will depend on us offloading Welsh, Larger and Nawrocki first. And BR does not have a good track record in signing center halfs, actually cannot think of one???
Scales is fine as a squad player, bring on in most SPL games, can see him coming on for KT a lot next season.
Thought he was decent enough against sheep-until his howler.

Fully agree - especially with the bit in bold.

When Tierney is fit, a third LB allows us to play Schlupp in midfield, and still have a designated 2nd choice LB on the bench.
Similarly, if Tierney is out, it allows us to play either Schlupp or the new guy at LB, with a dedicated sub for that position on the bench.

We will sign another CB but time will tell on the quality.

It's a really difficult position to fill to the desired level when you consider what we are asking for.

A pacey, comfortable on the ball, left sided CB who is also strong and good in the air:giggle1:

I want us to continually improve..but Trusty has shown himself to cope at the highest level and that's good for me as far as a debut season goes.

I like trusty and I rate scales as well but if we're looking to improve again for next year we should be looking at better. I get what you're saying right enough, might be easier said than done.
