That chance he went with placement was a layoff for Maeda moment.

Thought he was immense tonight, did a huge amount of defensive work, just missed a couple of opportunities.

 

I think last night showed the importance of a front three with pace, trickery and technique. Bayern did not want to be left one on one with Kuhn or Jota and Maeda was over them like a rash and they feared his pace. Kuhn has come on leaps and bounds this season and deserves immense credit. Played well last night as well putting in a good defensive shift, creating chances and chipping in with a goal.

 

First half he didn't look comfortable receiving the ball back to goal in our half. Gave it away constantly but really stepped up 2nd half. Delighted for him to get that goal against his old team, on a massive stage and in front of the Germany manager.

 

Very poor 1st half both defensively and attacking wise. He left Johnson exposed numerous times. It was as if he went into his shell and couldn’t deal with the pressure. 2nd half was better, great finish for the goal. We need to keep him for next season, refute all bids in the summer.

 

I thought he played great, if he'd have bagged one of the other chances, i think we'd have gone through.

 

Thought he was pretty quiet, but look at the level of opposition we were up against. Took his goal brilliantly.

 

I wasn't too happy with him first half, noticed him ball watching a couple of times when he needed to support AJ in defence. But what a cool finish for the goal, he must have enjoyed that one big time.

 

I actually think he’s been off it for a while but good finish for his goal and unlucky with the one in the first half.

Maeda has to play him in for the one he chipped too,

Delighted for him, moreover against Bayern, but overall I think he’s been poor enough recently - compared to his usual high standards.

 

What a * player he is.

 

Something I noticed watching that is he stepped it up a notch when he started chopping to his right and beating defenders on their outside. He seems to have stopped doing that so much recently. Whether it's a confidence thing I don't know. Maybe he only feels confident doing that when he feels 100% fit.

 

I thought he was proper * today.

 

Downgrade on yang on that kinda performance.

 

So predictable there..

 

He had a shocker today and he looked a bit of a shitebag at times.
