Don't like the amount of attention he's getting now, need a press release telling everyone how * he is, no point in taking interest in him.

I don't know about a holiday, but has Daizen Maeda earned a mini-break after his exploits this week?

He's remarkable, isn't he? Yeah, he's just an incredible player. You see the energy on the back of me talking about the three game I played him for 90 minutes and he goes into it. He's having a remarkable season. Such a joy to work with.

    Yeah, you'll see tomorrow.

He doesn't seem like a guy who'll come and say he could do with a break?

No, no, he's an incredible... It's as much the will to do it, because there's lots of players that can actually run and run fast, but to do it repetitively and have the will and the desire to continually do it.

I'm so happy for him. He's getting the rewards now of the goals. His pressing and the energy is great, but you look at his numbers, you look at his finishing and you look at the calmness now.

He's taking his goals. He's a player that's really, really high in confidence, but we also have to be mindful that he is still human as well. We don't want to break players.

That's what I've tried to manage right the way through this whole season. And I've said it again, there's times I've rotated when I haven't wanted to, but I know to keep the fitness and health of the team I've had to. But the players, to their credit, they've still got the results and some brilliant performances.

So we've just got to keep pushing onto our next game now and we're at home. We love to play there and hopefully have a great atmosphere and get the energy from the crowd to help the players and keep pushing in all these games

I think we will some offers for him in the Summer. Wonder where he fits on the scale of happy to stay vs wants a move if offers do come in.

We’ll sell him for £25 mil and sign him again in 18 months before his kids start school

He’s got to be the number one striker for Japan now, not even a question about it IMO

We now need to make him the highest paid player at the club, I'd go as far as the £50K a week range given how unique he is, especially now that he's about to become our No.1 striker

Daizen Maeda has become one of Celtic's standout performers this season, delivering crucial goals domestically and in the UEFA Champions League.

With his trademark relentless energy, some clinical finishing, and a new place in the club’s history books, the Japanese forward continues to make a huge impact in Paradise – all while sporting a hairstyle chosen by his daughter.

"The team is performing well, and I just think it’s more that the team creates the chances for me to score.” he told Celtic TV.

With 22 goals already to his name, Maeda is edging closer to a 30-goal season but insists the team’s success remains the priority.

"First of all, the priority is to make sure the team wins the game, so my focus is to contribute to that by scoring a goal or assisting as many as I can." Maeda said.

His goals have also earned him a place in the club’s history books, becoming Celtic’s top scorer in a single UEFA Champions League campaign, surpassing legends like Henrik Larsson and Chris Sutton.

"I personally haven’t really been too aware of it, but we’ve had a lot of games this season. That being said, I think it’s an amazing record." the Japanese striker said.

Reflecting on the recent 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich, Maeda highlighted the importance of his goal.

"Obviously they are a top-level team, and at home, it was a game where we at least needed a draw. But going into the away leg at 0-2 and going in at 1-2 are completely different. That one goal at home was really big for us." he said.

And the secret behind his on-pitch success? It might just be his off-pitch inspiration.

"My daughter said she didn’t like me with a shaved head and told me to change to this hairstyle. Honestly, I can never say no to her." he said.

Tell you what I was thinking about that’s kinda mad, see Ange’s CL campaign we missed alsorts of sitters, Maeda must have missed 3/4 certs that season. We had a mental block taking our chances in Europe that year, see if he took half of those chances, he’d be equalled Sutton with 6 CL goals for top ever.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we manage to keep a hold of him this summer (I’m expecting a lot of interest in him now) if next year he went ahead and beat the record.
