@ILoveTheCeltic laid down the blueprint for this game pre-match.

    Bayern are pretty average imo.

As said, we showed them too much respect. Decided to start playing from 75 min onwards. If we were more direct and had the proper mentality in the previous 74 minutes, tonight could've been a very famous one instead of another 'what if'.

We show that we can give the best in the world a game. Best Celtic side since early 2000s

A lot to be proud of how the Bhoys ended up at the end, even if it was falling short. But a really good finish to the game and pushed Bayern right back. What price that Kuhn chalked off goal and the VAR peanlty decision for the foul on Engels?

But Bayern's record when they score first is what it is for a reason. W24 D1 L0 now. That said, both of Bayern's goals came from Celtic errors... Taylor for the first one, and noone picking up Kane for the second.

Anyone frustrated shouldn't be looking at tonight though. The H v Club Brugge & A v Dinamo Zagreb. That was

Both of those games were very winnable when the draw was made, we were in much better form than both going into those 2 games and even as those 2 matches were literally being played out, we should've been winning those. Those 2 draws into 2 wins, and that is 4 extra points, which would've been enough to bypass this stage.

There also goes the undefeated home record across all comps, that went all the way back to December 2023.

But, there is silver linings to take from this, and hopefully can put on a performance nex week in Munich.

But the Hoops can hold their heads up overall.

Didn't get to see much of that but what I did see I thought we did well. Saw their second one though, * was happening? Kane on his own at the back post?!?

Also blonde Maeda>bald Maeda. Magic hair.

I’ll pay him the compliment in assuming he’s at the wind up.

We’re alive. Just. You never know, an early red over there for them or a lucky goal for us and we’re in it.

    It’s a big ask though.

The very fact we’re competing with this calibre of team like we are is a clear sign of progress for me.

I would definitely start Maeda and possibly Schlupp over in Germany next week.

    * * thought we were snatching a draw there :90:

Done ourselves proud there, refused to give up and kept at them till the end. They were panicking at times there.

Hopefully more of the same next week, we carry dome luck and an upset is not impossible.

    Proud of yous lads :ynwacelti

Idah and Taylor, those were the huge moments

Don't know * Idah was doing when Kuhn shot, why he decided to move in front of the Bayern defender before Kuhn shot is baffling, he stays on the other side of the defender until Kuhn shoots and we're 1-0 up after 20 seconds

Then Taylor, stays in line with the rest of the defense then Olise isn't onside, then he should have kept Olise on his right side instead of letting him cut onto his left, couldn't do that either, that goal for Bayern just before halftime was a crushing blow, too many players heads dropped due to it going into the second half

Been solid and didn't run around like headless chicken but I have to agree with the people who as for a more direct and forward-passing style. Top teams are too good and never get into troubles when we play the ball around our back. We need to be quick going forward to cut through them.

Don't know if it was the coaching but we were so passive first half, waste of a half of football from us, we defended well except for that end bit with Taylor and the utter shambles of leaving kane free at back post

We should have went for them from the off with daizen CF Jota left wing and Jeffrey left back

    This is a mad take.

They're definitely not average. If they are then what are we?

It's easy enough to say if we had a go the previous 70 odd mins but football doesn't work like that. We'd have lost 5 or 6 easy.

Quite amazing really that we can even compete considering one of their players could buy our whole team, love this club HH
