Think our success in this game will hinge largely on Idah's performance . If he is up for it and on song we have a right chance . We need Kuhn to be at his best aswell.

It'll be some test for CCV. Seems like he's injured whenever we come up against a top striker

Think they play a very high line..

I'd be trying to go direct as much as possible....and i don't just mean route one. If we constantly * about with the ball around our own penalty box, we're in trouble..

For me now Maeda should start as the striker in this.

Upamecano and Kim are quick kind of bullying defenders and Idah probably will struggle against them being outmuscled and outrun. But Maeda being lightening quick running in behind them and closing them down and stuff will frighten them.

Also putting Maeda through the middle will save his legs a bit for when Jota will probably need subbed and he can go wide with Idah coming on up front.

Imagine Bayerns high line, us getting the ball to Engels or Jota or Kuhn and them dinking balls over the top for Maeda to run onto. Johnston even or Taylor skelping long curling passes down the line for Maeda to run across to.

 

I'd of had little worry with Jota starting, but I don't think he's 100% match fit yet and throwing him in to a game as back as this was far too soon, having Maeda available is absolutely massive.

 

It just gives us options..

We'll be guaranteed to have that rapid pace on the counter and pressing..

Can then move Maeda through the middle when Idah tires, then can get Jota on instead of say Yang..

Gonna be tough, so we need our best players all available..

Idah will definitely start as he was rested on Saturday..

Jota not match fit, he'll come on for Idah and Maeda will go to the middle last 30 depending how the game is going..

 

Jota Maeda Kuhn for me. If Jota tires it's fine, get him off for Idah. But a player like that, starting the game with all the buzz that goes with it, and the adrenaline, he could help us get ahead. Idah can then help us stay ahead.

Easily the way to go.

 

In retrospect, we shouldn't have played him for the full 90 mins the last couple of games. Hopefully, he's 100% ready and never stops running as usual.
