Why do we have/need 2 training facilities-Lennoxtown and Barrowfields?

    Progression.

we need to move forward and keep up with the times, having the best up to date facilities will help us shape teams for the future and keep the current first team top top for games and the season.

We may as well refurb the whole stadium if we’re going to do the main stand, no more poles and restricted views plus add another 10k to the capacity.

Would have thought that this would be active and ongoing issue, given the fact the main stand needs replacing. Surely the board have a long term game plan?

Think one of the biggest issues is the main stand would probably need demolished to build it up to same level. I could be wrong and maybe able to build on top of it but either way it would likely mean closing the main stand for a full season.

That's 7,500 season ticket holders needing relocated as well as all hospitality suites, directors boxes, players lounge, media area, dressing rooms etc

I just don't think there is enough room in the stadium to relocate all of that during a season

I would have thought that as a starter, the corners could be done individually, season at a time. And then tied into the new main stand.

Liverpool managed to build the new Anfield Rd stand without closing it.. building over the existing structure over a couple of years..

No idea if that's doable for us right enough, would imagine much more expensive way of doing it.. interesting tho..

I think the cost to expand outweighs the additional generated income we would get.

Think Nicholson said at an AGM a couple of years ago that to increase the capacity by 10,000, we would need to complete some work on the South Stand and it would cost around £100m. You’d need the £100m to pay for it, as the club won’t take loans out and it wouldn’t pay itself back for around 15 years or something.

It’s never going to happen. I’m more interested in getting the hotel, museum and new superstore built. Thought that would have been an amazing idea but that all seems to have went very very quiet.

If we need to borrow to fund infrastructure expansion there’s absolutely no reason we wouldn’t, we are a business and that is a standard business transaction.

The major issue isn’t funding the project or the 20 subsequent years of payback, it’s rehousing the season ticket holders within (myself included) and all the toff seats and hospitality during the works - that appears on the face of it to be impossible.

Keep qualifying for the champions league and the bank balance will continue to grow massively even with spending. I see no reason why we couldn't do it soon while keeping 100m in the bank.

If it was easier to get tickets my quality of life would improve by alot. I'm all for it, we could sell out every game with whats on offer.

I don’t know about increasing capacity but they will have to do something with the main stand at some point as it won’t last forever. There will come a point when major investment is a non-negotiable and just has to happen.

I agree this is the biggest challenge they face to make this happen. How to minimise the disruption. Financing the project won’t be an issue for a club in our financial position, lenders would be queuing up to work with us. I did see someone suggest, would we look to do something like Liverpool did with their stand where they manage to keep disruption to a minimum but that comes at a financial cost from the complexity of the construction project.

However, like above this will always be an issue but it will need addressed at some point.

We need some sort of bridge or parkland walk from Barrowfield to Celtic Park so it feels connected and one site. Like Man City have at the "Etihad Campus"

Ideally with bars shops and a public transport stop in the middle.

Edit: * it have a path from the back of the Emirates arena down to the river and then run a walkthrough through the park.
Put a pier on the river and have boats coming down for Central Station

Some refurbishment is needed. Not sure about spending a load of money just to increase by say 10k.

I mentioned the other day but Lawwell had said last year something about stadium refurbishment and the 85m we had in the bank at the time, some of that being put aside. Not sure if there's been any update.

The hotel, museum etc I also think would be a good idea. There's still a lot that could be done to the outskirts and local area.

Would the hotel museum etc. be separate or incorporated in a new stand?
