They are mid season just now, just a long winter break for them. Either way they’ll still demand at least £10M up front.

For sure. If this is the guy Rodgers wanted it needs to happen right at the start of the transfer window so he can have a proper pre-season with us.

 

That's a lot of money for a guy who hasn't managed to break in to a Denmark squad that isn't exactly bursting with quality forwards. I'm not writing the guy off or anything but I think sometimes supporters can get fixated on a certain player and put more hope on him than he can actually deliver.

 

Possibly true, wonder if fans are fixated (including myself) as his name has been mentioned numerous times. £11m does seem a lot for someone who's only European goals have been in Conference league qualifiers.

I think the big issue is with strikers, what do you get for your money? If they've scored a decent amount of goals in a good league they are going to cost £20m minimum. Whomever we go for will come with a fair level of risk I'd say.

Which if you take Palma’s option on loan into account at £3.5m, if we spend £11m on him, we have a net profit of £2.5m still this year.

without Palma, £1.1m net spend transfers. That’s poor that.

 

We'll likely wait until after our CL qualifiers before trying to bid for him. By which time he'll have moved to Germany or something. Might get another few weeks of a transfer window to tease us before the inevitable happens.

 

I would still like us to sign him in the summer, he can play right across the front line and would offer so much versatility.

You would have:

- Left Wing - Jota, Maeda, Kvistgaarden
- Right Wing - Kuhn, Kvistgaarden, Jota, Forrest
- Centre Forward - Idah, Kvistgaarden, Maeda


At home domestically you could easily play 4 of the above with Kvistgaarden as a 10/ second striker with Idah or Maeda as your centre forward, Jota left and Kuhn right.

Add Tierney, a back up centre back and a physically strong centre midfielder, and we will be some team.

If Hatate does go, another creative midfielder would be needed too.

 

We’d probably do something mental like play him wide left !
