It's about always adding quality and making the squad stronger, improving..

We haven't done that this window.

Rodgers and the board say it themselves every window. It has unfortunately transpired too little over the years.

Suppose I should be calling myself an idiot for thinking it would have changed this time.

This was exactly my point man.

I utterly despise Lawwell and Desmond even more than most... But regarding specific accusations that Rodgers has been screwed over... Its simply not the case for me.

Ange spent just under 49m in 4 windows.
Rodgers is well over 60m in the same.

As well as what is obviously a far higher wage bill at this point.

What this comes down to is scouting and recruitment. Weve had substandard scouting for YEARS now. Ffs look how long its taken to find a LB. And we're relying on his love and knowledge of the club to get it over the line. Same with a new winger...Jota.

We're a * state in the market because we have a distinct lack of options, brought on by apathetic * like Lawwell and Desmond. Our scouting is * chronic.

But rodgers hasnt neen shafted. Far from it imo.

Wasnt it Rodgers who brought in this "football doctor"? Hows that going ffs.

I know, I'd feel the same if we hadn't spent the majority of the money on Jota.

Granted if idah and Maeda get injured we are left with Kenny but I'm hoping this will do Idah good and he'll step up with the responsibility.

There is no need for Yang to play now we have jota and Schlupp can play there in an emergency.

I'm more worried that we aren't looking for a defensive midfielder.

    The brainwashing is * unreal.

People genuinely believe it’s beyond us to, at the very minimum, bring a striker in on loan for 6 months. How thick can you be?

We wanted a winger in to provide competition for our options there. To be able to rotate and rest players if needed. We did that with Jota.

But we sold Kyogo which now means Maeda isn’t going to get that rest time or be able to be rotated because we’ll need him to play up top quite regularly. It’s brainless.

We’re an injury to Kuhn, Maeda, Jota or Idah away from being down to the bare bones in attack. Yang, who should have been punted in January, will still be relied on regularly.

Rodgers was absolutely clear that he wanted a striker and that he was confident we’d secure one. How the * can anyone now pretend that he’ll be fine with not getting one? It makes no sense and it’s going out of your way to make excuses for the board.

    Gaslighting beyond belief

Exactly this. Some fans are about 3 steps behind in what is really happening at the club. They have failed to recruit properly this window. Bayern game will be a chance for Brendan to throw his toys out the pram. It's all but inevitable.
His body language has switched to the same when shved was signed. a bit more haphazard end to the season coming up...."but Jota"...aye ..

Disappointed we didnt get a striker in, I think BR will be too. Alright with Schlupp signing. Would have liked that Norwegian too but I'm happy to wait until the summer for another winger.

Whatever way we individually decide to look at how this window went, those figures @Blochairnbhoy posted, along with the figures being quoted for two targets, are showing that our board are still as incompetent as ever.

BR made it clear be wanted to come out this window stronger than when we went into it. Imo we haven't.

Yes we have added quality in Jota and possibly Schlupp.

But we're lighter on numbers, our main striker was not replaced and we're 1 injury away from having to play an untried striker of a makeshift striker.

But time will tell how much we will or won't be effected by our business.

Think the writing was on the wall when we knocked back bid from West ham for Cummings that we were not getting the strikers we wanted.
Load of pish really this window.

Glad we got jota but that's a winger upgrade.
Time will tell but we've played with fire here

Not allowing a striker that wants away to leave because we've not got a replacement lined up... That'll never catch on

How do you know for sure that we didn't try for loans and they didn't materialise, for one reason or another, player/club/agent's demands etc.? The operative word there is may.

I think it is impulsive to make assumptions or speculate on hearsay, wait until you hear the man speak himself on the transfer window, and then come to your own conclusions.

Is that not exactly what you've done in the first part there you're speculating.

The reality is we have let one of our best players and main striker leave mid season and we haven't replaced him everything else is just noise regardless of it being framed positively or negatively

You're being clever here though because you know as well as I do he isn't going to come out and slate the board. He's too professional. I also added the word "may" his wording was slightly more assertive.

There's no dressing it up. He wanted a striker and we didn't deliver. We knew about kyogo leaving months beforehand and didn't deliver. Thats not speculating. Its fact.

You're also speculating in your first sentence as James points out above. At least I can point to quotes from the manager which show he has been let down.

Aye totally. You might have want away players but you're under contract. Until those players start being detrimental to the dressing room or on the pitch tough titty.

Makes you wonder why we spent so long * about on 1 strikwr in the summer when we really should have went for 2.

Plus Rodgers is heavily involved in the transfers so it'll be interesting to hear what he's got to say.

It could be he feels the board haven't backed him or it could be he understands how the deals didn't get done. Either way I think he'll tell us.
