I’d have traded Kyogo for Jota in a heartbeat and I’m absolutely over the moon to have him back. In fact, adding quite possibly the best player and biggest difference maker in the country is a huge coup.

Added to that, we’ve secured the return of Kieran Tierney which again is massive and will (come summer) instantly make us a far better side.

Only Celtic’s board and recruitment team could somehow tick both those boxes and still make an absolute * of the window. Not signing a striker to replace Kyogo is absolute negligence.

I know there’s a lot of justified negativity right now but one of the things I’m positive about is we’re no longer spread betting on cheaper punts.

It was such a problem before that we’re still dealing with it as a legacy problem.

We’ve definitely changed strategy. It would’ve been really easy not to sign Jota and instead bring in 3 ‘promising’ 21 year olds at RW, LW and ST for £3m each.

I think see if Kyogo had gone out of the blue somewhat and it took us by surprise, leaving us with only a week to get someone we thought was of the necessary quality, I'd be more inclined to cut them some slack.

However. Rodgers publicly said we'd known for a number of months that he wanted away. He met Desmond in Dublin before Christmas to discuss our January budget and plans. Everything he's said has led me to think we should have been prepared and even if something did go wrong, have a better back up plan.

That's the crux of the frustration for me.

No doubt Rodgers will come out and say we could've been braver with our recruitment, or any of the usual drivel we've become accustomed to over the years.

There was more than ample time to have a replacement for Kyogo already lined up, supporters are tired of hearing the same lame duck excuses for the lack of proactive recruitment.

For now the manager will grin and bear it, but i suspect next season will be his last, maybe for a number of reasons.

There's not even the excuse of clubs not wanting to sell their best players this time around would be laughable to come away with that after selling Kyogo

That's the media radio and sky saying 3 of our targets turned us down because they didn't fancy playing in the SPL as they want to be playing in a higher standard league .fair enough why Kyogo left to get into bigger league .its just something that will always hinder us playing in this * standard of league .get some fresh targets for the summer and move on .

Some of our fans think a 22 year old who's proving he can score and assist goals is only worth £4m because he plays in Denmark.

    Was going to say.

That's the time old excuse being rolled out again. I've no doubt that many players look down their nose at playing here but cmon.

It is quite ironic though. Given that some fans are slating the quality of the Danish league around Kvistgaarden. Perhaps that was a reason we couldn't get him over the line, who knows.

Chased kvistgaarden for two years only to find out AFTER Kyogo left that he didn't fancy Scottish football?

Let's pretend that's true, does that not demand further questions of why the * we chased him for two * years?

Every transfer window, same excuses and same apologies. Wake up people.

Levy at spurs gets a hard time and rightfully so most would agree he's a pain to work under and a pain to do transfers with. From his own staff to the media and other clubs, they would all agree.

Yet here in Celtic land, we couldn't dare question the restrictive nature of our board.

I don't think those rumours are true that none of the targets wasnt interested. Not saying we should have went for him but lets say we approached Odsonne Edouard, we would get him. Im pretty sure about that. There are tons of strikers out there in our reach. Crazy strange one this.

Honestly I'm not surprised people are annoyed by the striker, I'm disappointed by it. I think I'll be annoyed if one of our top targets isnt in in August. At this point loaning a player for 6 months gives no bedding in time, so you won't get a good youth with the option to buy, other options would be a very expensive failing 30 odd year old, although Idah would contradict that view. I do wonder if what was available at the time, Brendan thought just stick with Kenny for now.

I agree with those who point out that we had enough time to see if Kvistgaarden was viable. Instead we were slow. I wish Ange was back, if only for his swiftness in dealing with the transfer market. Nicholson is useless.

I know people are saying the Brondby lad is not worth 14million. It’s not like we don’t have the money in the bank to take the risk.

But the board is willing to take the risk going without two forwards till the end of season? We have an injury and the league is not looking a cert and we could be in trouble.

Then comes the summer and the excuse well they didn’t want to come cause we are not in the champions league yet…….

This is not a one off, but this was one of the biggest * ups in a long time.

WGS last window, I need a striker and he got Willo Flood.

    * hate our board and that rat * Lawwell. Same with Desmond the absolute *.

If you'd rather give any odd person you'd never heard of a chance, why not give that chance to Kenny?

Our board are a * up shower, brilliant getting Jota in, decent business getting KT in during the summer, letting our best striker go and allowing our loaned LB go without getting a back up is poor business, you really want to build on a position of strength but the fuckwits on the board just want to do enough so we are ahead of the scum.
I see it as contempt for the supporters who keep the club alive.
