If he hasn't actually signed a pre contract then there still might be a slight chance of keeping him if hasn't totally burned his bridges with Rodgers. I mean the chance is there now if he backs himself to establish himself as a first teamer.

Where's it been confirmed? Genuine question because when it was being reported that WH had bid yesterday he still hadn't actually signed the pre contract even if the terms had been agreed in principle.

Our manager has had to rely on his contacts book to bail out our misfiring recruitment system with Idah on loan and Schmeichel.

Kuhn is an example of a good piece of scouting and a strong piece of recruitment. Jota coming back is a positive. Engels looks promising.

One thing I will say is I don’t think scouting or target identification is our issue. Guys like Bazoumma Toure, Sondre Orjasaeter, Mathias Kvistgaarden and Alvyn Sanches amongst others all look like good prospects who would fit our team.

However, we really seem to struggle to get deals done and in an efficient manner. Idah and Bernardo were prime examples last summer in how long it took to get them done.

I feel to this point this season we have done really well, league cup in the bag, commanding lead in the league, and qualification to the knockout phase of CL having made over £50m from the campaign.

We are on course for revenue north of £135m this season, income as a whole including player sales will be around £185-190m. With FSR rules now being in play, that January was a big chance to invest in the team whilst we have the opportunity to do so as we are not certain of CL football next season but we have ended the window with more to do in the summer where we may not have as great a scope.
