If clubs don't want to sell their players to us then unless we are willing to pay well over the odds then why are they even considered targets to begin with? And why do we only ever seem to have one target at a time?

We sold Matt OReilly for 25m due to him having a couple of good seasons in the SPFL. No international experience, no real impact at European level. But he was our best player so we said 25m and we got it.

At the other end of the scale we sold Lawal to Stoke for 3m who hardly kicked a ball for us, and Oh for 4m for was a bench warmer. You could argue Kyogo was the 3rd top goal scorer in the SPFL despite playing for the best team and struggled to even get in the Japan squad never mind play and he's 30 yet went for 10m.

I don't know nearly enough about Kvistgaarden or Strelec to give an opinion on value, but in the context of our recent sales and where we want to get to in the champions league, the figures you state aren't abnormal.

And if these players aren't worth it, we've had half a year to line up alternatives. We could have got miovski for 7m - a good example of a top SPFL/unproven in europe level player. We could go for hundreds of players at that price point. Yet our strategy always seems to be Rodgers pulling something out a hat at the very last minute, or nothing at all.

Intresting to see if he was with it or getting pisssed off. In all honesty we are more than fine on rhe striker position till the summer.

Jota, Tierney and Schlupp is a pretty * good winter window :56:

When did we sign Tierney? Have the club announced anything? Is he available to play on Wednesday?

The answer is no so he has * all relevance in this transfer window.

We got jota and schlupp and left ourselves one injury away from having to rely on two unproven no names as strikers who won't even be celtic players come the summer, kenny could be gone as soon as shamrocks season starts.

Hghly doubt Rodgers would confirm it if it wasnt true. But i get what you are saying and i do agree. I just don't think it is "the worst window ever" as people are saying. Is it disgraceful that we sell Kyogo and don't replace him mid season? Ofc it is. It is criminal.

I genuinely think that the new * Tisdale or whatever he is called is the one making that call as he is a expert at saving money. We can do without Kyogo untill the summer and still win the trophies we aim for which is the reason we're not buying a striker in Jan. I don't agree with it though.

The fact Jonny Kenny would have been away if we actually got someone but now he's gonna be involved most weeks says it all.

Forced to have a player we would have rather put on loan as he's probably not ready. Tin pot attitude

This is it, most teams in Europe this season will know how We have done in the CL and how much We have made from the competition, Kvistgaarden just now is not worth the £13.5m that has been quoted and Strelec is most definitely not worth £8.5m, this is what We are up against just now in the January markets, clubs will not want to sell unless We are willing to pay way over and above the odds, Kvistgaarden imo is not worth £13.5m, maybe between £3m - £5m at a push considering that He has not had any international caps and very little euro experience, saying that though if We did pay the £13.5m and He became another flop ie a Balde, Scepovic or a Ciftci', people would be totally going mental that We paid that amount for a player with no caps and next to no euro experience if he turned out to be a flop, it is frustrating that We lost Kyogo and didn't replace him but there is no point in overspending on a player who isn't worth what his club are demanding because they know that we need a striker and also no point in going down the road of expensive EPL has beens on loan which is something that the huns would do just to keep their fans happy, getting Jota, Schlupp and Tierney on a pre contract is actually very good business all things considered,I never for one minute thought that Jota or Tierney would be back but strange things happen.

Willing to give Kenny and Cummings a chance to impress as backup strikers and then see where We are in the summer.

We will never know how good our youth players are if We don't give them a try.

Are you taking the *? That’s worse than the English arrogance when it comes to our players.

Do our fans not listen to Rodgers?

The point isn't that we haven't signed Kvistgaarden. The point it that we haven't signed ANYONE for that position.

He literally said 48hrs ago we may need to get a loan in. He never mentioned anything about needing to spend.

He literally wanted a loan. Thats all. And he hasn't been given it. I cannot believe people are defending this action by the board it's laughable.

The Tierney contract hasn't even been officially announced yet and we won't see him play for another 5 months so forgive me for holding back my applause just yet.

They've got plenty of yous brainwashed that's for sure.

I genuinely thought we would of got a striker on loan i just dont get it ok we have most likely won the league but lets be honest it only takes a few players out and we playing young kids who we dont seem to think are good enough we knew for months Kyogo was leaving it just doesn't make sense cant blame Rodgers for looking to * off now we have done the same thing as last time we never learn

I thought he'd do 3 seasons, still think he will..

But any chance of persuading him to stay longer are gone after that window.. he isn't able to influence the direction of the club the way he would like.. and it's been played out publicly..

I know lots still can't forgive him but we'll be lucky to get this level of coach in who understands the intricacies of managing Celtic..

I think him and the fans need to be realistic about signings.

Every player and back up player can't be a 10 million pound signing on high wages.

The board backed him in the summer and we've signed Jota and Tierney who'll be on big wages.

We were obviously willing to spend 10 million on the Danish player but we can't just pay over the odds or panic buy in January.

We now have kasper, Mcgregor, Ccv, engels,Trusty, Idah,Jota, Tierney, Johnson on big wages
Players like hatate, bernardo, khun, maeda won't be far off it and will be wanting more with new contracts.

This spell is either going to make or break Idah, maeda is good enough back up and we now have Jota and schlupp on the wing.

He accepted we may need to go to get a loan deal. Think that was him being realistic.

This isn't a back up player either we are talking about it's a replacement for a striker who scored 85 goals.

You're talking about big wages there, the majority of them still won't be over 40k and we still have a smaller wage bill than the Huns apparently. Cmon mate.

There's no excuse for not even being able to secure a loan deal for 6 months with an option to buy or not. Do you think asking for a replacement whether permanent or loan, for a striker who the fans adored and was an important player, is unrealistic?

    Will keep saying it

    £77m cash in bank
Approx £27m up from player trading
33% increased prize money from uefa
    Turnover could be approx £150m

Cash in bank in interim could be £90m to £100m

It's inexcusable in theory we are in profit all over the * PLC. It's insanity to hoard the amount of cash we are. If you had signed Kvistgaarden and the Norwegian winger for the £20m their clubs wanted you where still £7m or there abouts in * profit from player trading alone and not touched a penny in the bank.

    It's a shambles and incompetent * shambles.

Interim out shortly and then the * will hit the fan again!
