While I'm personally disappointed to not have an exciting name in at striker maybe we need to go a step back to go two forward with idah. He's now the main man most likely till end of season. We should know where he's at us long term by end of the season

Who says option C or D would be pish?

At worst, we should 100% be loaning a striker in for 6 months until option A is available. Option A in this case being a player we've wanted for 18 months but are too cheap to get.

 

So we've kept a youth player who's signed elsewhere and has no future here
A striker from the league of Ireland can't go back out on loan and has no future here
We've got a winger who the managers been asked about repeatedly playing up top and binned it everytime
Now we have one adequate striker who was backup to our number one we've just sold

That's because our recruitment team were mugs. Palma shouldn't even have been option M. He didn't fit out style of play and was never going to be a success here.

Again, a competent club would have 2 or 3 strikers on their list who would be attainable and sufficient quality. Seems like we had one and then no alternative whatsoever. Not even a loanee to at least give us numbers for 6 months.

 

This might be a daft question, but is the loan deadline the same as the signing deadline or is there an extra hour or two?

Annoying thing is the deal sheets part means even though deadline is 11 this charade could go on till 2 in the morning

Because there club and about doubled what they wanted. Fall into that trap and it can seriously damage any future transfers not just this one.
