Could say that about any position though. If CCV and Trusty were out we would also be in bother.

Also if we don't sign a striker and Idah somehow gets injured before the 1st leg against Bayern who are we gonna start? Kenny?

It's hypothetical situations ofc but there's still a decent amount of football to be played here.

Let's say our business is done.

Jota and Tierney are guys we already know. Getting them back shouldn't really be that difficult if they are willing.

The other, Schlupp, is a 32 year old coming on a 6 month loan whose best position is CM/LM.

Tierney isn't even here until the Summer so shouldn't really be counted as a signing for this window. That's without mentioning the risk involved with him because of his injury record.

Meanwhile we've lost Kyogo, our main guy and talisman of 3 and a half years, with no replacement in sight. We've let Valle go when he was providing adequate competition for Taylor, only to sign Schlupp who isn't even a proper LB and is on the decline.

There's been no forward planning (bar Tierney, who is a risk himself) and we'll still need loads of new signings in the Summer with CL qualification on the horizon.

Taylor is out of contract, Hatate will likely go, McGregor is another year older, CB options are bleak, Kuhn will get offers and we're still giving Yang plenty of minutes. We should be using this window to address some of those concerns or to replace key players just gone (Kyogo).

But our three signings this window are guys who've probably played less than 30 games between them in the last 18 months. The only one that's permanent and here right now is Jota!

I can't see how anyone can think this window is a successful one. There's a real lack of ambition to kick on and an incompetence that lingers over our recruitment. It's tedious and we should be expecting more with the money we have.

Idah was Kyogos successor, and will be worth 30 mil in two years.

Was.it confirmed Rodgers was going down south, surely that wouldn't be to conclude Schlupp.

Gotta be a decent name coming in for that trip. :48:

I think Idah was bought to eventually take over from Kyogo. I struggle to believe we paid £9m for a back up for the next few seasons. But your right Kyogo does need replaced as in another ST needs to come in as 1 (2 as Maeda can play there but mainly a winger) isn’t enough.
