I can’t stand Arteta, but he’s not standing in Tierney’s way. Not anymore.

KT won’t end up here. We’re after Schlupp on loan apparently

The ball is 100% in Tierney’s court. If he wants to move today, he will. He’d lose an absolute fortune doing it though, so I’d be surprised.

And for the record, I wouldn’t blame him at all. The money he’d be walking away from is exactly what sets him up to be able to come back up the road come summer and money be an afterthought for the rest of his life.

Not saying for one second he should turn his back on the money if that’s why he’s staying, but if he can’t live a very very comfortable life on his career earnings so far he’s doing something wrong.

Don't think anyone would or should give up a few million quid, if it means 3/4months sitting on a bench down London playing the odd 5mins here and there

He'll be back in the Summer, more than likely till he retires, plus we made £25m on him

As a working man walking away from millions would be a tough thing to do and I know he comes from working class family. But I do agree with your point not like he'd be making pennies up here

See if that’s true and given the complete lack of activity elsewhere rather than pay a loan cut of wages for Schlup we should be looking to plug any gap in what Tierney stands to lose or at least get close to it and just get him up the road.

See when look beyond just finance and take the full picture into play for the club it makes sense, he needs to get back playing not 5 minutes here etc, proper game time.

Celtic having a ready to go and integrated in to the team Kieran Tierney for next season, is worth us paying £2m or so for. If we were offered the chance to sign him for such a fee we would bite their hands off. Not to mention you could probably make some of that money back on merchandise and promotional opportunities for such a high profile player.

The thing is as well it would have been ideal to get him in now, he's been fit for almost 2 months is it, so would have been coming in fresh.

Time we get to next season fucknos how many injuries the * will have had.

Is he some sort of missionary mate?

You're making out like he's been down at Arsenal doing charity volunteering, and now he's only getting paid for his last 4months....

I'm pretty sure the club would pay his wages for 4 months if it really came down to that.

Fancy pointing out where I’ve suggesting that in the slightest?

Footballers have a short career (even those without a significant injury history) and he’d be giving up the last 5 months salary he’ll ever get at that sort of level. Being smart with money is part of the reason he’s able to return to Celtic at a decent age.

He’s due close to £3m in salary, plus pretty substantial bonuses. You honestly think or board would (or even should) cover all those just to get him in a few months early?
