Celtic's board shares fans' frustration over the "less than anticipated activity in the recent transfer window", says chairman Peter Lawwell.

Manager Brendan Rodgers has also indicated he had been hoping to strengthen his squad further.

Celtic's half-yearly financial report to the end of 2023 revealed an increase in revenue and £67.3m in the bank.

While "resources were available" in the January window, Lawwell cited the "unavailability of identified targets".

The chairman added: "This was disappointing to us all and never the intention."

I am not saying I agree or disagree with it either.

 

Can't stress how disappointing this window has been so far. Big 11 hours ahead. I'm not expecting anything good to happen to be honest.

Nicholson and co need hounded should the inevitable happen, especially after last January's debacle.

The only concern is obviously if we are dicking about then Rodgers won't be impressed as his presser suggested yesterday.
We know why he left last time was because the club were * about with pennies and not getting his targets in.
I'm not overly concerned tbh like in previous windows but if Rodgers want's players in then he deserves to get them in.

Key positions not filled, board thinking again the jota tierney love affair would distract fans (many in here who were on a high) for long enough not to think about the actual positions that are actually needed now.

Or when they sanctioned the £9m transfer of Idah, a record at the time, the replacement?

If we were told last summer that Kyogo would leave in the winter and we are about to buy his replacement for £9m this summer we would all be buzzing and saying it’s brilliant planning. I think next striker coming in will be back up and with the potential to take over from Idah. Also we have great cover on the left now if Maeda is to play CF. Whether that’s today or the summer another striker comes in I have no idea.

LB, Winger and ST in that order is priority for me atm.
