Don’t disagree but how would that work with our maximum amount of allowed loans? Does he class as club trained/homegrown/u21 so doesn’t count? Or would he be in our (is it max 6 loans, not sure exact number)?

Just sign him after the window it keeps him at his club and doesn’t use up a loan spot. Provide help with rehabilitation if needed.

 

The later. Genuinely half the post on this thread are people all suggesting the same thing. Sure some people have even suggested it more than once.

He's already proved he's good enough for Motherwell, I'd send him to a different league on loan. Maybe Belgium, the Netherlands, Portugal or somewhere with a good standard, but some teams where he could get a game. The championship could be a decent option too (worked for CalMac).

But if signing him now, I'd have him do his rehab here and do half preseason with us before doing the second half with the loan team.

 

Think we should cut our losses with some of the players out of loan, even if that means it facilitates this one.

Not sure if it’s actually that easy to “cut our losses” on players contracted to us bud or more clubs would do it. Think it needs both parties to agree and for instance (not sure exact contract length) tilio wont want to give up the years he has left will he.

I agree though, far too many players who’ll never play for us
