Still hoping there's something left with this one. Undoubtedly we would need to be the ones to up whatever what's on the table already but we've put ourselves in this position.

Can attest to this. Just last week I won the Champions League with Wycombe Wanderers.

Personally I think you are reading too much into it. He does not fit the profile of a Rodger's striker.
I don't know how many more times I have to say that.

    I think so.

Suppose he is using a lot of ifs and buts still. Might be a chance still.

    Everyone guessing at this point.

100%. I think his comments make a strong point to the board about pushing the boat out for the required quality.

100%. He's been backed to the hilt so far. We have spent big money, but we are not spendthrifts. Sometimes you have to be cautious, when the risk is too much.

And folk have to remember too, you can't always get what you want.

He said if we can't get the one we want then it'd be a loan as there's no sake bringing in anyone permanent for the * of it.

I think his comments are being twisted a bit from what I read.

‘I take it in terms of a striker it’s looking more like a loan now as opposed to a permanent one?’

‘I would think so, I would think so’

Think from that you can take we will be looking at a loan striker tomorrow fairly confidently.

That's what I was thinking. More than likely a loan, but not ruling out getting "the one " we want .

It's more the rest of the quote that left it open a bit.

Regardless I'd rather a loan with option than spending on our 3rd or maybe 4th choice option for a permanent. So he's bang on.

We forget that not every player is awe struck when we come in to sign them. Some players are holding out for a bigger club. Some are only interested in reaching the EPL as quickly as possible. The lure of a stint in the Champions League for a few months doesn't outweigh being forced to play on a plastic pitch in Kilmarnock or a mid-week night trip to Dingwall in the howling wind and * rain...for some of them.

We can struggle to understand this as for us as supporters and fanatics there is no greater honour than playing for Celtic. You've made it. You are living your dreams. But it's not like that for some players.
They have more options than choosing Scotland and a lot of them would seem more attractive.
It's not one of football's iconic venues like the Nou Camp where every kid in the world had dreamt of playing there. Celtic Park has prestige. But every other venue in Scotland is an outdated shithole, usually half empty and uninspiring and pish. No kid in Brazil or Argentina dreams of scoring a screamer at Fir Park
